Saturday evening, a devastating fire ripped through SweetPea Friends of Rutland Animal no kill shelter in Paxton, MA. With heavy hearts we must report that 17 dogs and 39 cats perished in the fire.
Three dogs and one cat are currently in stable condition at the veterinary hospital and one dog; Stella is in critical condition. We ask that all of our supporters please keep the surviving dogs and cat in your thoughts and prayers along with the volunteer staff of SweetPea, and veterinary staff caring for the survivors.
