A Message from our CPPA President,
Cliff Quicksell, MAS+.......

Well, a most unprecedented year is behind us; each of us a varying levels, have had to deal with this crisis, and it has not been easy - but things are looking up. The one thing I do know, as humans, individually are remarkable, we pivot, adapt, adjust, overcome, to get things done - imagine what we can do together?

As I take the reins from Jeff Franklin, our outgoing president, I offer him and the others who preceded him, who laid the positive foundation for CPPA, a great deal of thanks and admiration for ALL their hard work.

We have a tremendous board, over the past several years I have worked with them and they ARE very strong and committed to making CPPA the very best association in our industry. However, we cannot do it alone, we need your help, input, and suggestions.

We have a few hurdles ahead of us, but nothing we cannot overcome. We are working diligently to provide more services, and opportunities for us to connect as a group, for the betterment of the entire organization.

During my presidency, I want to hear from you, I encourage you to reach out to me, and to the other board members and share your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions - TOGETHER we will accomplish amazing things.

Our board and Executive Director Tiffany Kanak are stellar, our members are amazing, so we are starting from a really good place.

I am an eternal optimist, always will be - what is the alternative? We need to continue looking forward.

As we move headfirst into 2021, it will not be perfect, however, let us stay committed to ourselves, our families, and our businesses, so together, we can have the most productive and profitable year yet.

You have my commitment! Again, TOGETHER we will accomplish amazing things.

Continued success my friends.

2021 CPPA Cares Philanthropy Selection

Happy New Year! I am excited to announce Fidos for Freedom as the organization chosen by your votes to support in 2021. Fidos for Freedom is a non-profit, 501©(3) organization based in Laurel, Maryland. They strive to increase the quality of life for people living in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan community through the use of hearing dogs, service dogs and therapy dogs.

To learn more about this wonderful organization, please visit: www.fidosforfreedom.org

Stay tuned for more information about our plans to assist Fidos for Freedoms with their 2021 goals. I am certainly hoping for a return to in-person events later this year and if those events could include dogs, that would be the cherry on top!

Thank you to all who indicated they would like to be included on the 2021 Philanthropy Committee. I will be reaching out soon with our first meeting information. If you would like to be included on the committee, please reach out to me at [email protected].

Looking forward to a dog-gone great year!

Overcompensating for working in sweats by working all hours of the day and night? Here's how to use your newfound flexibility and erase your work-from-home (WFH) guilt.

It's probably no surprise that 88% of organizations have encouraged or required their employees to work from home due to the pandemic. Unexpectedly, working from home can trigger feelings of guilt. Work-from-home guilt spirals some employees' emotions into negative feelings about themselves, even causing some to doubt their performance.

COVID has blurred the lines between our personal and professional lives, causing the two worlds to collide daily, resulting in friction from competing demands: homeschooling, parenting, working, spending time with family, with one's significant other, and caring for one's self.             Read More
