Mary Jo Meisner (ALI '17) interviews Imari Paris Jeffries, new Executive Director of King Boston for the Social Impact Review. King Boston began as an initiative to build a memorial to civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the Boston Common, but has now grown into a project that also seeks to create a Center for Economic Justice. They discuss the array of initiatives honoring Dr. King's legacy in Boston and throughout the country.
ALI Hosts Deep Dive on Climate Change

ALI hosted this year's first all-virtual Deep Dive on Climate Change to our current and past cohorts. The three day event was filled with spirited conversation with speakers, scholars, and activists from across the University and across the country.

Carla Dirlikov Canales (2021) says the creative arts industries ultimately drive economic growth. In USA Today, she describes the importance of naming a Secretary of Culture as part of the Biden Administration to help advance the U.S economy.

Karen Korellis Reuther (2021) is sharing her take on what makes good design and how it ultimately informs brand identity. Ms. Korellis Reuther offered her perspective on a recent episode of the Design Museum Everywhere podcast.

Molly Campbell (2019) was profiled on CBS Los Angeles for her work advising the U.S Treasury. Ms. Campbell helped the treasury department determine set best practices on large-scale public projects like bridges, warships, and transportation.

Dwight Poler (2019) is offering his reflections on philanthropic capital over the past year. Mr. Poler notes the tremendous advances made by organizations and initiatives that embraced diversity, equity, and inclusion in their core mission work.

Nieves Segovia (2019) has been elected vice-chair of the Talloires Network Steering Committee. The Talloires Network of Engaged Universities is a growing coalition of over 400 universities in 79 countries who have publicly committed to strengthening their civic role and social responsibility.

Steven Koltai (2018) says America should prioritize reengagement with the World Bank. In an article for MIT Magazine, Mr. Koltai explains why the World Bank is in need of an American-led strategic renewal.

Thuli Madonsela (2017) has been appointed as Knight of the Legion of Honour by French President Emmanuel Macron. Ms. Madonsela is being recognized for her remarkable achievements in defense of law and the fight against corruption in South Africa.

Brett Perlman (2016) and the Center for Huston's Future held its 2021 Annual Meeting featuring ALI Founder Rosabeth Moss Kanter in an enlightening conversation with Carrin Patman (2014). Over 400 attendees heard Prof. Kanter's inspiring message on leadership and the ideas in her new book Think Outside the Building.

Tom Dans (2015) was appointed to Commissioner of the United States Arctic Research Commission (USARC) for a four year term. USARC is an independent agency of the U.S. government that develops, recommends, and promotes an integrated national Arctic research policy.

Charlie Bolden (2009) is sharing his reflections on his contributions to public service and science during his time with NASA. In a conversation hosted by the Kennedy School's Institute of Politics, Major General Bolden joined astronaut Dr. Jeanette J. Epps to celebrate Black achievement in space.

Health and Human Services Secretary and Surgeon General is necessary to avoid further delays in pandemic relief. Featured in Bloomberg Businessweek, Dr. Koh considers the role these key health officials have in fighting the pandemic.

ALI Founding Chair & Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter (HBS) discusses her latest book with Harvard Alumni and stresses how we must all innovate with novel solutions in order to solve newer problems in the post-pandemic economy.
