Fellowship Family,

Well, it's finally here. Our chancel choir, handbell choir, praise team, and each of our wonderful musicians have been working hard to prepare and now the big week is upon us. No, not the week of Christmas....not quite. The week of Lessons & Carols! I don't know about you, but the Advent season isn't complete for me without our annual Lessons & Carols worship service at Fellowship. This worship service is filled with Scripture as well as special music we have prepared just for the occasion. We are delighted to share this wonderful tradition with our church family once again this year.

As a church, we also recognize that the Advent and Christmas season can be difficult, particularly for those who are sick, hurt, or grieving. To hold space for contemplation and reflection, we will gather in the sanctuary at 4:30PM on Sunday for a service of wholeness and healing. In this service, we will sing, read Scripture, reflect, and pray for the needs of those gathered. I hope you will join us for this deeply meaningful time together.

See you in worship!

Fellowship Bread Baking and Delivery Help Needed!
The Mission Committee is preparing Amish Friendship Bread (aka Fellowship Bread) to be given to all 50 housing units at the Applewood Housing Community as a sign of our ongoing partnership and fellowship. The Committee need volunteers to help with these Christmas presents on December 18 and 19:
  • December 18 – Bakers Needed! The Committee is looking for people willing to mix and bake loaves of bread at their homes. Participants will be provided with the starter, the recipe, bread pans, and plastic bread bags needed to finish the bread. Participants will need to pick up in the Fellowship Hall on that morning at 10:00 am; participants will need to provide some ingredients to finish the mixing process. The baked loaves must be brought to church Sunday morning, December 19, before church.
  • December 19 – Drivers and Deliverers: After church, the loaves of bread will be delivered to the Applewood Community. A specific time has not yet been established. Since there are 50 apartment units, several people will be needed to deliver Season’s Greetings and a freshly baked loaf of Fellowship Bread to the residents.

If you are willing to help bake on Saturday or deliver on Sunday, please contact Judy Meyler at 336-402-4173 or Mimi Carter at 336-880-8589.
As efforts are made behind-the-scenes to start 2022 on a new-and-fresh note, one of the ways the Outreach Committee is asking for the Fellowship Family to participate is by joining Realm. Realm is an online platform of the church’s database that provides for better communication within and through the Fellowship Family, including an online directory, church calendar, and an ability to both RSVP for upcoming events and give online. While the Outreach Committee is going to be hard at work in helping get everyone on board, you can opt-in and complete your online profile now!

Please visit https://onrealm.org/fellowshippresbyterian or use the QR link (and follow the prompts) to complete your profile. If you have questions, please ask Pastor Kathryn.

Wondering what to do with all of those grocery shopping bags? The Missions committee will be collecting “gently used” plastic grocery bags for Backpack Beginnings. Please bring any you don’t use to church with you, leaving them on the Missions table in the Dogwood Lobby closest to the double doors leading towards the classrooms.
Fellowship Presbyterian has online giving available through the Presbyterian Foundation.
