MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Mentorship Program for Latinx High School Students

Youth in Action (YA)! is a mentorship program for Latinx high school students, offering a network of peers, mentors, and parents to support their academic and professional goals. Open to outgoing 8th graders and 9th-11th graders, the program runs from September to June and includes monthly Leadership Institutes, college tours, civic engagement opportunities, and parent meetings.

Students are matched with volunteer mentors through a “speed-matching” process. Graduating participants can earn scholarships of up to $1,000 toward college fees based on their participation in the program.

The program aims to empower Latinx youth to become leaders in their communities by providing guidance and opportunities for growth. Deadline to apply is June 25, 2023

For more information or to get involved, contact the YA! team in Minneapolis or St. Paul:

The pass is available to all students enrolled at a participating school (one per student). To purchase a pass, the student must provide your school's name and their student ID number. Metro Transit will deny purchases without this information. Seniors may purchase a Summer Student Pass if they were enrolled in a participating school in 2023.
