February 5, 2021
Dear Lovejoy Families,

Can you believe that we have been in school for 101 days? Our Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day yesterday by wearing shirts with 100 things on them and various other activities like writing 100 words, counting to 100 in different ways, and aging 100 years! It is amazing how much we have all grown over the last 101 days.

Next week, we will have a short week. On Thursday, February 11th, we will have Leopard Live beginning at 8:05. We are going to have this event "live" via a Zoom webinar. If your child is receiving an award, then your child's teacher will send you the link so that you can watch the event "live." If you can not tune in at 8:05, then you can watch the recorded event which will be sent out at a later time on Thursday. We will also be having our Valentine's Day parties on Thursday. This year will be exchanging Valentines a little differently. Instead of students buying the cards like we did when we were in school, the students will create a virtual Valentine's Day card at school and exchange it with their classmates. The teachers will lead your child in this activity, and you will NOT have to worry about it. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel to contact me at any time.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

LES Information
A Note From Nurse Debbie
We are definitely seeing the effects of allergy season already from coughs to congestion, sore throats, and headaches. I just wanted to send a quick reminder that when we assess a child for possible COVID symptoms, these symptoms are included on our list to be assessed by a physician if two or more symptoms are present. I know that this can be very frustrating knowing that your child suffers from seasonal allergies. The best plan of action would be to be proactive and treat allergy symptoms with medications that allow our kiddos to have a healthy productive day. I can be reached at 469.742.8132 or Debbie_nash@lovejoyisd.net if you have any questions. Stay well and stay safe!
Valentine's Day Party, Talent Show, & Lunch Information
February 11th is going to be an exciting day for our students. If you are an on-campus learner, please click here for the schedule. Our virtual students will receive specific information from their teachers regarding their schedules for the day. During the Valentine's Day party, students will play fun games, have a sweet treat, and drink from our PTO. Students will create virtual Valentine's day cards with their teachers to trade versus traditional cards. Students will also have the opportunity to watch the Talent Show during this time. Students on campus will be served a sack lunch of crispy chicken sandwich, baby carrots & celery sticks, fresh apple slices, baked lays, and a choice of milk or chocolate milk.

Athletic Tickets
There has been some confusion in regards to ticket sales, as in the past all students and staff have been allowed in free to all athletic contests (with school ID).  Due to UIL covid-19 attendance capacity limitation regulations we are forced to charge for entrance to all athletic contests for all staff and students. The tickets sales assist the athletic department in keeping with the capacity limitations required of us. If you have questions, please contact the Lovejoy Athletic Office.
