Free Pilot Course with BCIT
NRCan’s Embodied Carbon Estimator Tool
Monday nights, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 (starting at 7:00 PST)
NRCan, with the help of partners, has developed a short course on how to use the new embodied carbon tool. BCIT is running a free pilot of the course and you are invited to participate.
Learning Outcomes: In this course you will learn to:
- Explain the contribution of embodied carbon emissions in buildings to global climate change.
- List the ISO and EN standards and describe the quality assurance processes that are used to generate EPDs, PCRs, and LCAs
- Use the new NRCan embodied carbon tool to estimate emissions for a residential construction project.

Schedule: 4 x 2-hour sessions this coming January 2022. Sessions will be all online, Monday nights, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 (starting at 7:00 PST).
CPD: Free pilot offering has no credits or CPD recognition.
Commitment: As a condition to the free tuition, BCIT asks you to commit to attending all lectures and providing feedback to them at the end of the course, via a short survey.
