Golden Pantry Charity Classic
Be Golden & LIVE UNITED
United Way of Northeast Georgia staff
Robert Griffith, Golden Pantry CEO with Kay Keller
Golden Pantry, a mainstay in our community, recently hosted its annual golf tournament benefitting United Way of Northeast Georgia. Despite the rain, the Golden Pantry Charity Classic welcomed 25 teams to spend the day playing at The Georgia Club, all to help us continue meeting the needs of Northeast Georgians.

Thank you to Golden Pantry for your ongoing and constant support of our community and of United Way of Northeast Georgia's mission to meet the highest priority needs in our region.

Purse Power is Strong

Women United's Power of the Purse event was another great success! It was an opportunity for women philanthropists to gather, be inspired by other leading women, and support a love of reading in our youngest neighbors. This year's event featured guest speaker Maria Balais, who shared the importance of philanthropy, especially for women.

Because of the generosity of our business sponsors and individual donors, Women United is sending a total of $10,000 to the
Clarke and Oconee County Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library programs send free, age-appropriate books each month to children from birth to age five. These books help foster a love of reading for both the child and family by routinely adding new books into the home.

These programs have been administered by United Way of Northeast Georgia for the past nine years and as of October 1, are now residing in county-specific organizations, Books for Keeps and Oconee Area Resource Council, respectively. These new homes are great fits for the programs and we are excited to support them as they continue to provide books and resources for our young community members.
