The Triumph of the Soul

Joy! Joy! No mortal thought can fathom me.

I am the merchant and the pearl at once.

Lo, Time and Space lie crouching at my feet.

Joy! Joy! When I would reveal in a rapture.

I plunge into myself and all things know.

ASTROLOGY FORECAST (Jan 5 - 12)

This week rather than talking about star charts, I am going to discuss a bit of philosophy with you. I want to tell you about an Astrology book that I will sometimes be referring to when I write the columns. It is ASTROLOGY- Planet Personalities and Signs Speak by Robert Shapiro.

It concentrates on lesser-known qualities of the planets and signs.

The author does not say the traditional attributes are wrong, but that there is more. This is a rich, thought-provoking book that will become increasingly more important as our Solar System spins into a new part of our galaxy, allowing us access to more abilities and knowledge.

That is what the Stars and Planets are doing. Picture a double ferris wheel at an amusement park. It is spinning in one tight circle within the spin of a larger circle. Now imagine that it is also moving rather than stationary, and you have a good illustration of the heavens. All of the rest of the known Universe is on a similar trajectory.

 

The map of the Universe I was looking at recently is astounding in scope. Look up the supercluster “Laniakea" sometime. It means "immense heaven" in Hawaiian. This map and film show how far out on the edge of space our Solar System is.

The most common reaction is to feel small and insignificant. We all remember enough to approach this phenomenon differently. We know that Earth humans are truly pioneers. We are explorers on the frontier and there has never been a better time to utilize all of the tools available to assist us.

I believe that the best use of these various divination methods is to combine science with imagination to create in an artful way. Astrology and Numerology are art forms with an established scientific basis. I believe you will have moments when you say, "Yes, I knew there was more, or that it was different for me."

For example, I have not discussed before now the two major astrological systems. There is Vedic Sidereal that adjusts for the procession of the equinoxes and the Western Tropical system that does not.

I use the Tropical system. It is less precise than Sidereal systems, but is easier to find commonality for all of you in one column. The aspects and cusp energies I concentrate on are true to both systems.

There is another way that I find them both useful and applicable. The Vedic system uses the Rising sign as the identifying factor of the personality, while the Tropical system uses the Sun sign. When you have your birth chart done using both systems, your cusps become an interesting bridge energy that brings the two systems into a compatibility not otherwise acknowledged. (This is an opinion, not a solid fact. It is how I interpret the two systems to find value in both.) If you find that you exhibit a mixture of signs and planetary attributes in your life, the study of cusps can assist your understanding.

Ultimately, you are the one living this incarnation. You are the architect. The systems are available to assist you. Each system agrees that the signs and planets have their best expressions as well as their shadow sides. THIS IS WHERE ASTROLOGY MAY BECOME AN ART FORM. You are the artist who will create as no other being can. You are an original whose accomplishments will be recorded into the Akashic records for all other beings to study and benefit from.

Create with joy and a sense of adventure. May you find your Godspeed.
