SEPTEMBER 2022

News from North Ed REMC 2C - Instructional Technology Support

This month's edition: Welcome Back! Updates, Upgrades and More!

CSTA: Engaged. Experienced. Energized!

The MiSTEM Network graciously invited regional educators to the summer CSTA (Computer Science Teacher Association) Conference in Chicago. The opportunity and resources were provided through a MiSTEM Network Advisory Council grant. Next year's CSTA conference will be held virtually. We highly recommend you check it out!

Updates, Upgrades and Enhancement!

North Ed has been busy updating and upgrading some things around REMC2c! The Computer Lab is a little different now, incorporating Chromebooks instead of all-in-one desktop units. We have an updated wireless projector that can connect to devices. We are also integrating 3D printers and other Maker materials with hope that regional teachers will use the space with their students. As always, the lab space may be reserved by our districts for unique off-site teaching and learning. Call for 231.922.6210 for more information.

Tech Toolbox

We are looking for local districts to start up Girls Who Code clubs in their schools. It's free to join. Check out the website (above) for more details and contact your REMC2c team if you are interested. We'd love to support this in your schools! Right now, if you sign up there's an opportunity to get $300 in materials. This offer does expire so contact us to learn more!

Google Classroom now allows you to integrate Add-Ons!

How do you do that? In Google Classroom, under "Stream", start a new topic/announcement. There, you will have an option to connect approved apps like Pear Deck, Kahoot!, Google Arts & Culture and more!

Amazing!

REMC2c is currently transitioning to Follett Destiny resource manager. We ask for your patience and understanding as we learn this new-to-us software. The link to the new library software will be:

In the meantime, please email us with any material requests. remc@NorthwestEd.org
