Summer Deadlines
Summer chill

We hope you get to kick-back and relax this summer, but if your tax returns have been extended, you may have some more tax work to do!

The deadlines for submitting your information to us are as follows:

  • August 1 for LLC's, Partnerships, November year-end C-corporations, and S-corporations
  • September 1 for Individuals and December year-end C-corporations
  • August 15 for Trusts
  • October 3 for Non-profits

Remember, we need your authorization signatures before we can e-file your returns, and E-signing is the most convenient way for individuals (but is not available for businesses). If you continue to get reminder emails and have already signed one way or another, just hit the DECLINE SIGNATURE button in the email reminder.

Colorado's New Refund, New Fee
Colorado Cash Back: By now, you've probably heard of the TABOR refund which Governor Polis decided to pay out early this year in the form of tax rebates (at least $500 for individuals and $1000 for joint filers). As long as you are a full-time Colorado resident and you've filed your state tax return for 2021, you will receive a refund check in the mail by September 30, 2022. Extended filers will receive the refund by January 31, 2023. Click here for more info.
Colorado Retail Delivery Fee: Effective July 1, 2022, a new fee will be imposed on all sales of tangible personal property delivered to a location in Colorado. Deliveries include any taxable goods that are mailed, shipped, or delivered by motor vehicle. The retailer that collects the sales tax from the purchaser is also liable for collecting and remitting the retail delivery fee (with the sales tax return) on Form DR 1786. The additional fee for the first year adds up to $.27 per taxable delivery. Click here for more info.
IRS Tax News
Mileage Rate Changes - With gas prices spiking, the IRS is adjusting the standard mileage rate up 4 cents to 62.5 cents per mile for the remainder of the year, effective July 1, 2022.

Where's My Refund? - The IRS is reminding taxpayers that it's taking up to 120 days to process some tax returns and issue refunds. You can now check the status of your refunds for the last 3 tax years (2021, 2020, and 2019) by providing your ITIN, filing status, and exact refund amount. And there's an app for that: IRS2Go.
