Our Mission: Power a Clean Future Ohio is building momentum now for a clean, prosperous future by equipping local leaders for equitable, community-driven carbon reductions in Ohio.
Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit

Today’s Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit will bring together hundreds of passionate and visionary leaders to share inspiring, forward-thinking, and solution-oriented ideas that propel us toward a healthier, more resilient, sustainable, and equitable future.

Power A Clean Future Ohio will be featured at the 10th annual Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit hosted by Green Umbrella. We will present a workshop: “Navigating Federal Funding: How to Leverage IIJA and IRA.”

In 2021, Power A Clean Future Ohio launched the Infrastructure Grant Assistance Program (IGAP) to assist local governments in bringing federal funds to Ohio. IGAP provides support to help communities stay on top of federal funding programs, develop staff capacity, and pursue grants competitively.

We hope you can join us in Cincinnati today!
First Solar Co-Op Opens to Miami Valley Businesses and Nonprofits
Montgomery County and the city of Dayton are working to help local businesses and nonprofits go solar. They recently announced the launch of the Miami Valley Businesses and Nonprofits Solar Co-Op through Solar United Neighbors (SUN).

"This Solar Co-Op is essential to providing renewable energy throughout the Miami Valley," said Montgomery County Commission President Debbie Lieberman. The co-op helps members navigate the solar panel purchasing process and educates them on various incentives available.

"Working with Solar United Neighbors increases our resources and knowledge and provides our businesses and organizations with solar solutions they can afford,” said Commissioner Judy Dodge.

Those who join select a single company to complete all the installations. Members then purchase panels individually but at the installer's group rate, allowing them to buy in bulk and save money. "I have solar panels at home and have had great results," said Commissioner Carolyn Rice. "By going solar, businesses and nonprofits could also see substantial savings in their electrical bills and know they're helping the environment."
Those interested in joining the Miami Valley Businesses and Nonprofits Solar Co-Op can sign up at SolarUnitedNeighbors.org/MVSolar. It’s free, and members are not committed to purchasing solar panels. The deadline to join is Sept. 30.
Ohio Community Solar Forum
Join Solar United Neighbors on Wednesday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. for a virtual town hall to learn about the community solar movement in Ohio. There will be a new community solar bill introduced in the Ohio House soon.

What is Community Solar?
Community solar lets families, businesses, or organizations subscribe to a community solar project. When you join a community solar project, you receive a credit on your electric bill each month. Oftentimes - this will make your electric bill more affordable.

What’s Happening in Ohio?
A bill will be introduced in the Ohio House soon that will create a community solar pilot program in our state. The bill is expected to garner bi-partisan support and is an exciting opportunity to make community solar a reality in Ohio.
