Apply for Science Mentorship Program
Freshman and sophomore science majors are invited to apply for the college’s mentorship program, which pairs mentees with upperclassman mentors for guidance and advice about navigating their programs and university career. The application deadline is Monday, March 1, 2021.
Find a Tutor
The Utah State University Departments of Biology and Chemistry & Biochemistry provide tutoring services to USU students based on availability. Visit the Science Tutoring webpage to learn which subjects have available tutors and to make an appointment.

Coursework help and coaching is also available at the Aggie Math Learning Center, and the Computer Science Coaching Center.
‘Unity’ is Theme for TEDxUSU 2021
Ticket reservations are open for the TEDxUSU’s March 8 gathering, which features USU mathematician Andreas Malmendier among its featured speakers.

ï»żHosts of Film Screening & Discussion
The College of Science, Department of Biology and Ecology Center are among an interdisciplinary, campus-wide team hosting a virtual screening of the documentary “Picture a Scientist,” followed by a March 8 panel discussion.
Apply for Scholarships
The application period for 2021-22 College of Science Scholarships is open until February 26, 2021. These awards are open to juniors and seniors with declared majors with the college’s departments. Also available are scholarships awarded by each of the college’s departments, as well as university scholarships. To apply, visit https://usu.awardspring.com
Undergraduate Research Round-Up
The Office of Research has extended the following application and registration deadlines to Monday, February 22. Encourage your students to take advantage of these opportunities.

The virtual Student Research Symposium offers graduate and undergraduate to present their original research on April 14-15 during Research Week.

The Space Dynamics Awards provide $1,000 to underrepresented students in engineering and computer science.

The Summer 2021 URCO grant awards $1,000 to one student or as group of up to four students for $500 each to run their own research. The grant requires a faculty mentor to fund up to $1,000.

The Peak Summer Research Fellowship allows undergraduates to complete an immersive, 10-week research project with a faculty mentor and receive a $4,000 scholarship.

Join us on Zoom Friday, March 5, at 7 pm MST, as USU biochemist Ryan Jackson presents, “A ‘CRISPR’ Understanding.” An online Q&A follows Dr. Jackson’s talk, during which he’ll discuss innovations in genetic engineering.
