Lakewood Community Center
As you know, the City is in the process of redeveloping Cove Church, which will be the future home to our Human Services Department and Community Center. The Design-Build Team, Moody Nolan has started to solicit community input. If you are unable to attend the virtual community meetings with Moody Nolan on 02/23 or 03/23 at 6pm, there are other opportunities to provide input for Lakewood’s Community Center.

Scam Squad Tips

It is important to protect yourself from scams! Cuyahoga County Consumer Affairs shares tips for recovering from unemployment insurance fraud and information on the latest Coronavirus scams.
H2O volunteers received tremendous support from the community.

H2O youth volunteers launched a service project to collect gifts that were given to young women who have moved from the foster care system to the independence of adulthood. The gifts were taken to Bessie's Angels. Donations include: 14 pots/pans, 31 household cleaning products, 48 kitchen utensils, 54 packages of hygiene products, washcloths, towels, 23 bottles of shampoo, 13 journals, pen packs, 60 socks/packages of socks, and more! What a gift for the young volunteers to see an outpouring of generosity and caring.

Community supported composting is a partnership between Rust Belt Riders, the City of Lakewood and Keep Lakewood Beautiful to ensure residents have an alternative to landfills for their household food waste.
 
Did you know that over 40% of all food ends up in landfills? Food scraps placed in these bins are turned into high quality compost that support local gardens and farms. Composting fights climate change, protects our lake, and promotes public health health. Lakewood now has Drop Off Locations at Lakewood Park and Madison Park.
How it Works:
  • Collect your foodscraps at home
  • Bring foodscraps to a drop-off bin
  • Unlock bin with your membership combination
  • Dump foodscraps into the bin and re-lock
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
