CONGRATULATIONS to our drivers celebrating their Buchanan Anniversary in November!
From National Interstate Company:

With fall and winter months come shorter days and an increased likelihood of fatigued driving. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, every year about 100,000 police-reported crashes involve drowsy driving. These crashes result in more than 1,550 fatalities and 71,000 injuries. These statistics are just police-reported crashes where it is known that drowsy driving was a factor. The reality is that fatigued driving is likely even more prevalent than this.

Fatigued driving is extremely hazardous. It is crucial to recognize the signs of fatigue and take precautions to mitigate fatigue. Some precautions include:
  • Ensure you sleep 7-9 hours each day, uninterrupted.
  • Make sure your sleeping environment is cool, dark and quiet.
  • Exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet.

Input Requested!
As the Safety Department hosts educational sessions for the in-office teams, your input requested in generating topics for discussion. What do you wish the office folks knew? What would make life on the road easier if your support team in the office knew or had a better understanding of? What challenges do you face each day that you don't feel the folks in the office understand?
