October Updates

It is crazy that October is upon us. Summer has flown by and we at Earth Elements have not stopped. We are as busy as ever, despite a global pandemic halting many of us in our tracks. As a reminder to our clients, all four of our locations are open by appointment only and will remain as such until further notice. Please give your closest location a call or email at info@earthelements.com to schedule an appointment with one of our Product Specialists. If you are planning on joining us for a meeting, be sure to wear a face mask throughout the entire meeting to ensure the safety of yourself and our employees.
If you have a project you are working on and know what division's products you are interested in, feel free to reach out directly to a local product specialist to schedule a meeting. Our employees are very knowledgeable of the products we carry and are always excited for a new project.

It's Kind of a Funny Story...
Buster + Punch

We have a new line!

Buster + Punch is one of our newest manufacturers. When we went to their website, we expected to see home finishes, just like the rest of our vendors. However, when you hover over the "Shop" button, you can't help but notice a word at the bottom of the list. In the same size, same font, same color, "Motorcycles" stands out. What in the world do motorcycles have in common with lighting, hardware and furniture?

It turns out, Buster + Punch was birthed from a nighttime hobby of building custom motorcycles out of a garage in London. Inspired by the fashion, music and sub-culture scenes in London, founder Massimo Buster Minale had initially found passion in reviving stock vintage motorcycles to make one-of-a-kind masterpieces. But, "Being an architect requests soon turned from motorbikes to home fittings and I set about makin everything from door handles to toilet roll holders."

We are loving their lighting fixtures. All of their products are hand crafted from rare, solid metals and feature their signatures: cross-knurling patterns and coin screws. All of their finishes work with their signature bulb that is the first designer LED bulb on the market.
A Dishwasher You Never Knew you Needed
Miele G7000

Most people these days have a dishwasher. In fact, it is something some of us take for granted: this machine that does our dishes for us, yet has not yet figured out how to also put them away. While Miele has not developed a dishwasher that puts the dishes away once they are clean, they have found a path of innovation for an item that has been relatively standardized.

Miele's new G7000 series has incorporated a feature that no other dishwashers have, a level of intelligence. The new AutoDos system recognizes load size as well as levels of dirt to determine how much detergent to disperse. This way, the dishwasher always disperses the optimal amount of detergent. Combined with their special PowerDisks, the G7000 series washers will make you confident when telling your kid to go start the dishwasher, that they're not overdoing the detergent.

Additionally, Miele has included a new internal design for their baskets. Their FlexLine basket allow for increased flexibility for loading and cleaning your dishes. The sections are movable and allow you to customize each and every load to maximize your space. Miele understands the widely unspoken, yet thoroughly understood science of loading a dishwasher and has now created a line of models that can be customized depending on how many and what kind of dishes you have in each and every cycle.
MIELE PROMOTIONAL OFFER
With every purchase of the new G7000 dishwasher, Miele will be including a 6-month supply of complimentary PowerDisks.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH:

Beef Burgundy
Recipe from Wolf Sub-Zero Cove

The smooth, flavorful broth of this classic French dish will impress and comfort guests at your next dinner party.

Makes 6-8 servings
Ingredients

4 pounds (about 1866 grams) trimmed chuck roast, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
1 teaspoon (3 grams) kosher salt
1/4 cup (31 grams) all-purpose flour
6 slices (218 grams) thick-cut bacon, chopped
5 cloves (25 grams) garlic, minced
1/4 cup (59 milliliters) Cognac
1 pound (415 grams) fresh baby portobella mushrooms, quartered
1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) olive oil
3 cups (710 milliliters) high-quality Burgundy wine
4 sprigs fresh rosemary
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (168 grams) tomato paste
1 tablespoon (25 grams) beef bouillon base
2 cup (250 grams) peel fresh or frozen pearl onions
Hot cooked pappardelle pasta, for serving
Fresh rosemary, if desired

Preparation Method

Sprinkle beef with salt. Place beef and flour in a heavy-duty resealable plastic bag. Seal and shake to coat.

Set the Multi-Function Cooker to Saute/Sear Mode, HIGH. Press Start. Add bacon and cook until crisp, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes. remove bacon using a slotted spoon, and let drain on paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) drippings in the Multi-Function Cooker.

Add beef to the Multi-Function Cooker in 2 batches. Cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, about 5 minutes per batch. Add garlic and cook for one minute. Add Cognac and cook, stirring constantly, scrapping browned bits from the bottom of the Multi-Function Cooker. Spoon beef into a bowl. Set aside. Add mushrooms and oil to the Multi-Function Cooker. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add wine and rosemary. Cook until wine is reduced by half, about 10 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and bouillon base. Add reserved bacon, beef and pearl onions.

Cover and set the Multi-Function Cooker to 2 Programs Mode. Set Cycle 1 on HIGH for 1 hour. Set Cycle 2 on LOW for 7 hours. Cover and press Start. Cook for 8 hours. Serve over hot cooked pappardelle pasta. Top with rosemary, if desired.

Pro Tip

Baby portobella mushrooms, also called cremini mushrooms, hold up better than button mushrooms when slow cooking.
