Message from the Interim Executive Director
Dear Colleague,

In the moving words of Francine Rodd, Executive Director of First 5 Monterey County -- and a featured speaker for the NAMC Socio-Economic Impact and Insights Report 2020 – “Here’s to holding each other as we work to heal a nation.”

How are you doing? We hope that you, your teams, and your families are starting to feel a little better as the weather has improved, vaccines are more easily available, and economic recovery is coming into view.

We have been so grateful to be your partner throughout the pandemic as we have co-created forums, training, special reports, bulletins, newsletters – as well as our wonderful awards celebration complete with the Red Carpet Gallery. As we think about the urgent work yet ahead -- and the potential to connect and collaborate more powerfully than ever in 2021-2022 – we ask you to join us for our training on June 10 and to respond to the NAMC survey that will arrive very soon in your inbox!

Please read on for details as we work together share ideas and expand the resources that help us all succeed.

For more than ten years, NAMC has been honoring outstanding nonprofit agencies and unsung heroes. Thanks to the generous donation by Perry Flicker, we have had the great honor in the past five years to also present the Perry Flicker Award in his memory to the individual in Monterey County that has been an outstanding ally. Previous winners: Joe Grainger, Executive Director of the Harden Foundation; Dan Fletcher, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Monterey County; Judy Sulsona, Consultant; Bradley Zeve, Monterey County Weekly Founder and Publisher; Rosemary Soto, Monterey County. This year, we ask you to nominate someone who has been outstanding in efforts to help others cope with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Future Meeting Options –
In Person? Virtual? Hybrid?
Throughout the pandemic, many of us have turned to virtual format – for fundraisers, programs, services, staff and client check-ins, and more. As more and more people are fully vaccinated and venues restore their capacity for in-person events, we are now likely to need options to reach more people than we can accommodate in-person at once.

In case you have been thinking about the next steps, NAMC partner Mike Buffo of House of 8 Media has shared an outline of when and how hybrid projects can maximize our reach and impact: Planning Hybrid Events
