CAFE is pleased to announce the Canvas Champions program, providing faculty-to-faculty peer support from those who have already used Canvas. Twenty-two Canvas Champions representing a variety of disciplines will offer sections of the “Introduction to Teaching with Canvas” course or hands-on synchronous workshop sessions over the summer. Sections are filling up, so register asap using the personalized survey link you received in your email for summer professional development.

As this academic year comes to an end, CAFE would like to recognize our 20/21 Champions for Accessibility and Inclusivity (CHAI): Ann Lara, Anna Soper, Annette Koh, Eileen Wallis, Denise Kennedy, Jun Myers, Stephanie Rothman, and Zahra Sotoudeh. CHAI faculty are campus advocates and examples for the application of accessible content and UDL principles with course design. Their continued commitment to facilitating workshops, creating support materials, offering office hours, and contributing to the CHAI community through discussion are much appreciated!

Beginning in the Fall 2021 term, Canvas will be the ONLY Learning Management System (LMS) available for ALL classes. Blackboard will not be available to be used with students after Summer 2021, but faculty will still be able to access their content in Blackboard through at least Spring 2022. The Wall of COOL has moved locations! Check out the new Wall of COOL 2020/2021 recipients on our new COOL site with a new URL! Wall of COOL (Celebrating Outstanding Opportunities for Learning) is a resource recognizing exemplar course design and development by Cal Poly Pomona faculty focused on student success using technology.

CPP is providing paid professional development opportunities for faculty scheduled to teach in Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022. Tenure line faculty, lecturers, graduate teaching assistants, and faculty in the FERP program are eligible. Multiple stipends are available for those completing more than one program.
