Pursuing God's Purpose and Promises For Women
Greetings!

Welcome to Promise Helpers' February 2021 newsletter.

We know the enemy is trying to steal, kill, and destroy us in any way he can, even with this new direction of staying 6 feet apart; he is intensifying his efforts in creating division amongst us. The Lord created us to love Him and love others. We have been forced to find new ways to connect with our family, friends, co-workers, and even strangers in our paths. With all the unrest in the world that is happening now, it is extremely important to stay in touch with our sisters in Christ. We encourage you to reach out to someone you haven't heard from in a while. It will do you both a great deal of good.

Are you making 2021 the Year of Praise to the Lord? If so, what are you doing to make it happen? We love hearing from you, so click the Prayer button below and let us know how you are making 2021 the Year of Praise to the Lord.

If at any time you need prayer, please contact Promise Helpers by clicking the "Prayer" button below or visiting our Facebook page to leave a message. We have mighty Prayer Warriors ready to stand in the gap on your behalf.

You are invited to participate by praying and fasting for the retreat; just ask the Lord what He would like you to fast from-- eating sugar, drinking coffee, watching television, etc. It does not have to be food-related.

New Normal??
by Karla Maxwell
Our "New NormaI"... I am sure you have become quite familiar with that phrase in the last year. I do not know who coined that phrase nor when, but I do know I do not like it. The first time I heard this phrase was about 18 months ago and I remember thinking, "That sounds so dumb... 'new normal' " (insert eye roll). I think the reason I do not like this little two-word adage is because it signifies change, and not in a positive way. Change can be good and change can be bad. Change can be caused by unforeseen circumstances or decisions we have made.

We have all experienced many "new normals" this past year; some universal, some personal, and for the most part exceedingly unpleasant . But when you think about it, new normals can be seen throughout the Bible and history. Adam and Eve had a new normal when they were cast out of the Garden of Eden. And are you glad you did not have to experience the new normal of Noah or what the Israelites new normals entailed from wandering in the desert, to not hearing from the Lord for 400 years?

But without a doubt, the most earthshaking New Normal ever experienced was when Jesus came to earth to live among man, leaving His heavenly home and His Father's side. Can you fathom the magnitude of that change? From the moment He was conceived through a virgin girl, born into a dark world to be The Light; God living among the ungodly, and knowing He was sent to be our sacrificial lamb. He left Heaven where He always was, where He was worshiped and praised, and came to the world He created to be questioned, ridiculed, judged as a criminal, and then executed even though He was perfectly innocent of any wrongdoing His entire time spent on earth.

Undoubtedly, we will continue to experience new normals, even into eternity. The most wonderful news is Jesus has given us a way to experience the most glorious new normal when we join Him in Heaven. This new normal we cannot begin to comprehend; we can dream and speculate the most magnificent new normal, but it will certainly surpass all we could ever imagine. We long for this particular new normal to take place soon, yet only the Father knows when this new normal will take place.

Until then, we can trust in the Lord with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. He can help us through any new normals that will continue to bombard us as we live our lives on this earth. New normals make us stronger and can grow us as followers of Christ as we depend on Him to see us through. New normals can help us grow in the Fruit of the Spirit- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. What "new normal" events have you experienced that caused you to grow (or should have grown) in the Fruit of the Spirit?

The best thing about these new normals is they are no surprise for the Lord. He knew these changes were coming even if we did not. Trusting in Him is so vital during these trying times. Surround yourself with His presence through reading His Word, talking to Him, listening to praise and worship music, hanging around like-minded Christ-filled friends, serving others, and using your spiritual gifts.

Just below is a praise and worship song called "Good God Almighty" that fits perfectly with our 2021 theme of "Our Year of Praise for the Lord". It reminds us how we as followers of Christ can get through our 'new normals”. I hope you will take the time to listen to it. Music is such a powerful tool in our Christian walk as it gives us a booster shot of strength when we listen to the message through song.

May we all grow in the Fruit of the Spirit during this time of "new normals", and continue to share the love and light of Christ Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I pray blessing over you during the month of February.

He is Good!
He is God!
He is Good God Almighty!

To God be the Glory,

How To Set Up a War Binder For Your Time With God
If you are unfamiliar with the term "war binder", a war binder, also known as a faith journal, is essentially a binder or notebook with multiple sections that you use to document your walk with the Lord. The term "war binder" may have come from the movie "War Room". A war binder is like having an entire war room in one convenient place.

Here is a list of sections you might choose to put in your war binder:

  • Prayers
  • Scripture
  • Gratitude
  • Sermon Notes
  • Journal
  • Inspiration
  • Answered Prayers
  • Testimony
  • Reflection
  • Growth Areas
  • Bible Study
  • Affirmations
  • God's Promises
  • Reference- tithing, books of the Bible
  • Trackers- prayers, tithing, etc.

Additionally, you can choose to add photos, drawings, printables, or anything else that inspires you.
