CONTROVERSIAL WIND & SOLAR BILL PASSES THE SENATE
Wednesday afternoon, Senate Bill 52 passed the Senate by a 20-13 vote; and, earlier that morning, the bill was favorably passed out of the Senate Energy & Public Utilities Committee by a 7-5 vote.

TECHCRED PROGRAM REACHES 20,000 CREDENTIALS
On June 3, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced the results of the April TechCred application period. Following eight rounds, over 23,700 credentials have been approved through TechCred, exceeding the DeWine-Husted Administration’s goal for the first two years of the program.

SENATE ADDS MAJOR PRO-BUSINESS TAX CHANGE TO BUDGET BILL
After receiving the bill from the House in late April and hearing several weeks of testimony, the Senate made its first round of changes to the state’s two-year operating budget last week. The Senate is expected to complete its action on 2,947 page House Bill 110 next week.

MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE BILL PASSES SENATE
The Ohio Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 105 on June 2. If passed, this legislation would require local political subdivisions to recognize state certifications for minority business enterprises (MBE).
