CSS of Wayne is So Thankful!

It is so hard to believe that November is here and the holidays are about to begin! As we look at the last year, we are so THANKFUL to be able to work in this community and to continue to serve our youth. Look at some of the things that CSS of Wayne is thankful for:


  • Youth were served throughout the year in ten schools (three elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools weekly).
  • Three Restorative Justice Programs provided services to our youth (teen court, community service, and mediation).
  • The CSS staff consists of fourteen dedicated professionals who work with students to help them become more successful!
  • CSS has great partnerships with other non-profits in this community.
  • 269 individual students were served last year.
  • 2,142 hours were spent with individual students providing support.
  • 5,856 total school hours were spent providing services to our schools.
  • 95% of the students that CSS supported were promoted to the next grade.
  • 100% of the students that CSS supported graduated last year.
  • Adults provided 1,879 adult volunteer hours in our elementary schools.
  • 264 teen volunteer hours served with the Restorative Justice Program.
  • 83 adult volunteer hours with the Restorative Justice Program
  • The estimated volunteer value was $66,780.
  • CSS was recently awarded “Best of the Boot” for Educational Advocacy by the Wayne County Chamber and the New Old North Magazine.
  • $3,000 was recently awarded by Goldsboro Pediatrics for our elementary reading programs.
  • CSS of Wayne was chosen as one of five non-profits in eastern North Carolina to work with the Institute for Emerging Issues through North Carolina State University.

Selena Bennett and Anne Millington present $500 check to Alando Mitchell, band director, and Ryan Nelson, principal, for Goldsboro High School Marching Band. They will participate in the A&T homecoming parade!
