Youth Group @ 5:00 pm
Each week our youth group will gather at Reveille with the theme of worship, grow, serve, or play. This week is a grow week, we'll be sharing in a Thanksgiving tradition together, watching "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving". You can join us in the room or via Zoom. Sign up by Wednesday, November 11th to participate. If you want to bring popcorn or snacks to eat while we watch the mini-movie together you are welcome to, but there can be no sharing with others I'm afraid.

New - join us over Zoom! If you can't make it in person, or would be more comfortable participating online, you can now do that, all future youth group sessions will also be available via zoom. The password is the same as for youth Sunday School - RUMCYouth. If you do plan on Zooming, please shoot me a text/drop me an email to let me know ahead of time.
Confirmation Class
The next Confirmation class will be on Sunday, November 22nd. Classes are also available via Zoom on this link. Again, the password is RUMCYouth.
Christmas Party
Yes, this year is different, but Christmas will be happening, and with it our youth group Christmas party, on December 6th, outside in the picnic shelter, complete with smores and a gift exchange. More on the smores later, but for the gift exchange, please bring a gift of between $5 and $10 to youth group no later than Sunday November 29th so that all gifts can sit in quarantine before the party and thus be shared safely.
Devotional
Download the My Bible app and join us in reading devotions by Josh McDowell written just for youth this year.
Sign up for Remind Texts
Get friendly reminders for all our activities by signing up for our texts through Remind app by texting @rumc-youth to 81010. This is particularly helpful for last minute changes etc.

Please complete an online youth permission form for each youth (sixth to 12th grade) in your family. The form is required for participation in youth and music ministry activities. Complete form
Youth Music
Handbells, Strings Ensemble, and Virtual Choir
Advent and Christmas Eve are just around the corner!
Here are some things to keep in mind as we get closer:

* Everyone involved in strings and bells, please mark your calendar for the afternoon of December 6. We will record all instrumental Christmas music that day. The anticipated call times are 3:30 for strings, and 4:20 for bells.

* Since "Carol of the Bells" has become such a traditional part of the Lessons & Carols service on Christmas Eve, we really want to include it in our virtual service this year. We recognize that the virtual choir hasn't drawn a lot of interest among the youth singers, so we're offering two different options on how to bring this piece to life, to see which will give us the best result. Option 1 is to record it virtually, and option 2 is to record it as a socially distanced choir, masked, and outdoors. Please take this Doodle poll to indicate which format you would be willing to do (not just your preference).
Strings Ensemble: 11:00 AM and 4:15 PM

This Sunday will be a bit different, so please take note. From 11:00 to approximately 11:45, the violinists will rehearse "We Three Kings" with Daniel and Susan in the sanctuary. This is a make-up rehearsal since we were not able to start this piece yesterday. Then, at 4:15, both guitar players and violinists will meet in the chapel to briefly touch on the other two pieces that will be included in the concert.
As always, everyone needs to sign up by Wednesday in order to participate, and be sure to sign up for both the 11:00 AM and 4:15 slots this week.
Youth Handbells (4:30 PM)

Congratulations to everyone who was in the recording of "How Great Thou Art" recently. It was a great addition to our virtual service! On Sunday, we will continue preparing the pieces for the virtual Lessons & Carols service on Christmas Eve, so be sure to sign up by Wednesday in order to participate.
