Summer is here, but learning never stops in D65! This year, we’ve expanded our summer programming to provide more options to students and families than ever before. In light of the many ways that the pandemic has academically and emotionally impacted our students, our programs are designed to encourage ongoing learning and address any skills students may need additional support in regaining. In partnership with a number of community groups including Sylvan Learning Center, Huntington Learning Center, JumpStart, and the YMCA, along with support from our internal departments such as our Family and Community Engagement team, we want to ensure that all students have the option to fully learn and enjoy their summer!

Heads up to our students, families, and staff - we will soon be transitioning to Powerschool this summer, a new student information system that will replace SISK12. To provide a seamless transition for our families to this platform, PowerSchool will be launched during summer school to provide minimal disruption. There is no action needed on behalf of our students and families, even better, you’ll still be provided with the same capabilities that were previously granted in SISK12. Through PowerSchool, you’ll be able to view grades assignments, attendance information, and more. Keep an eye out via your email regarding setup instructions and further information this summer! Until then, please continue to interact with our SISK12 platform.

After a guided reading of Carole Lindstrom’s We are Water Protectors, students will have the chance to build a sand timer together! We’re counting down the days until this fun event…literally! No registration or materials are needed to attend the event, but masks are required.
