Community Forum #2
Focusing on the Future

Hallsville’s Board of Education will host the second of three community forums on Monday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the secondary cafeteria. The goal of the community forums is to hear from district leaders and Board of Education members on a potential no tax-rate increase bond for the April 2022 ballot and seek community feedback on identified campus facility needs.

Based on the feedback provided at the first community meeting, identified community needs, and the expected funds available for capital improvements, architectural and engineering firm Klingner & Associates will develop three potential conceptual design options and provide construction cost estimates for participants to review. Information presented and feedback gathered at the community forums will continue to be updated on the district website here: https://www.hallsville.org/our_district/bond_construction.

The board has also set the following date for third community forums:
Wednesday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the secondary cafeteria
Thank you for your support of our schools and our students, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday, November 1.
Yearbook Ads 2022
Buy an Ad Today!

Hallsville High School yearbook students are looking for local businesses that would like to purchase a yearbook ad! Business ads are a crucial part of our yearbook program, as they help offset the cost for our students. Each ad helps to ensure that books are kept at a low price for our students.

If your business is interested in purchasing a yearbook ad, please reach out to our yearbook advisor, Heidi Lenon, at [email protected], or print off the Yearbook Business Ad Form. Ads can be purchased in sizes ranging from business card size up to a full-page ad!

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Supporting the Home-School Connection

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 28. A key to student success in school is a strong home-school connection, and parent-teacher conferences are one of the most important events that we host to support that connection. We look forward to seeing families next week to discuss your child’s progress and share your child’s strengths and needs!
Be an Upstander!
See Something, Say Something

Students at Hallsville Intermediate School are learning about how to be an Upstander at school, home, and in our community. Their character word of the month is “Courage” and we know it takes a lot of courage to be an Upstander, a person who stands up for those being bullied in a helpful way. Lessons are being taught twice a month in each classroom by Mrs.Campos, Hallsville Intermediate School Counselor. Teachers are also reading books to their class to reinforce these positive upstanding behaviors and actions.
Students are also sharing ways they can be an upstander and presenting to their class. Vanny in Mrs. Woods’ class drew four ways that she can be an upstander; Be a buddy, Speak Up, Tell an adult or Interrupt. During the months of October and November, Daniel Boone Regional Library has offered a free video and concert titled “No More Bullying” with Tim Collins. Tim portrays different characters who are confronted with bullying, and while watching, kids will gain practical information on how to act as an upstander and prevent bullying in their schools.
