Morris Park Joyful Holiday Trolley, 2nd Edition |

We were happy to bring back the Morris Park Joyful Holiday Trolley for a 2nd year, with top notch safety measures in place: timed entry, ticketed, mandatory hand sanitizing and temperature check.
Families and children were able to take photos with Santa and the Grinch, enjoy a hot cup of chocolate and received freshly baked cookies and a gift bag. The MPBID thanks everyone for cooperating to keep the community safe while enjoying the holiday spirit!

NYC Parks and MPBID Holiday Giveaway at Loreto Park |
With the generous support of NYC Parks Bronx Recreation Department, the MPBID brought a moment of joy in the snow, along with gifts from Santa Claus to Loreto Park on Friday, December 18., 2020.
Families and children enjoyed a beautiful afternoon playing in the snow, with hot cider provided by Morris Perk, and freshly baked cookies from Conti's Pastry Shoppe.
The MPBID would like to thank NYC Parks Bronx Recreation, especially Deputy Director Karen Pedrosa, for the consistent support to bring art, and cultural events to Loreto Park! We look forward for the park renovations to be completed during 2021, for more community activities and space activation in the park.
We truly appreciate your partnership, and look forward to working together in 2021!

Morris Park Christmas Tree and Hanukkah Lighting Ceremony on December 10, 2020, Co-sponsored by MPBID
The MPBID co-sponsored the Morris Park Christmas Tree and Hanukkah Lighting Ceremony on December 10, 2020, decorating the new tree installed by NYC Parks at the corner of Morris Park Avenue and Tomlinson Avenue, via the office of Councilman Gjonaj. We brought Santa Clause to cheer the gathering with freshly baked cookies from Conti's Pastry Shoppe, hot chocolate, and a whole lot of joyful holiday spirit

MPBID brings free COVID-19 testing to small businesses employees
In collaboration with NYC Health+Hospitals, the MPBID brought on December 22, 2020 free, door-to-door COVID19 testing to employees of small businesses on Morris Park Avenue. 22 businesses and 46 employees received the test, with the results being confidentially transmitted to each employee. We thank all businesses for the support to community safety!

Fresh produce distribution on White Plains Road and Avenue NYC surveying
In the framework of our "Avenue NYC" project, the MPBID conducted two produce distribution events and 110 consumer surveys for data collection on the White Plains Road commercial corridor. We were fortunate to partner with "Loving The Bronx" to offer all shoppers filling surveys boxes of free, fresh, farmers' market quality produce. Thank you Nilka Martell and all "Loving the Bronx" volunteers for your support to Morris Park!

Snow storm on December 15-16 on Morris Park Avenue
The first snow storm of the season impacted significantly traffic and parking on Morris Park Avenue. While the MPBID team worked hard to clear the sidewalk crossing points Thursday and Friday, the NYC Sanitation teams only reached Morris Park Avenue on Saturday morning. We asked for the commercial corridor to be prioritized for cleaning in future snow events.
