City Operations
The next Council Committee of the Whole meeting will be held in person at City Hall on Monday, October 25 at 6:30pm. Consultants Gannett Fleming will present their interim report on Horseshoe Lake to Council remotely. After the meeting, residents may post any additional questions on the City’s website at https://www.clevelandheights.com/Horseshoe-Lake-Interim-Report and those will be given to the consultants for consideration in their final report. Automated Trash Collection Delayed Until Spring 2022
Due to supply chain delays with equipment manufacturers, the City’s Refuse/Recycling Cart delivery (announced to begin mid-November in FOCUS ON THE HEIGHTS) and Automated Collection program are delayed until early spring 2022. Once we receive delivery of our automated collection trucks, the date the program begins will be announced. All up-to-date information will be posted on the City’s website.
 
Drive-Through Book Giveaway for Children October 23
Because every child deserves access to books, the Cleveland Heights AARP Chapter 5018 is sponsoring a drive-through book giveaway on Saturday, October 23 from 10am to 12:00 noon (while supplies last) at the Cleveland Heights Community Center (1 Monticello Blvd.). National Drug Take Back Day October 23
Residents can get rid of unneeded and expired prescriptions on Saturday, October 23 by dropping them off at the Cleveland Heights Police Department (40 Severance Circle) from 10am to 2pm. Officers will be present to ensure the prescriptions are properly disposed of.

Board of Elections Hiring Cleveland Heights Poll Workers
The Board of Elections is now hiring poll workers in Cleveland Heights for the November 2 election. Poll workers can earn up to $200 for assisting voters on Election Day. Those interested can apply online or call 216-443-3277.
 
Heights Halloween Festival October 23 on Cedar Lee
The first annual Heights Halloween Festival presented by Dobama Theatre takes place on October 23 from 4 to 7pm in the Cedar Lee District. The festival will include character meet-n-greet stations, circus performers, costumed actors, large scale puppets and more strolling the district. The festival also includes the traditional “candy crawl” along the Cedar Lee District. The rain date is Sunday, October 24.
 
Coventry Village 3-in-1 Halloween event October 29
Coventry Village welcomes all spooky fans to unite on Friday, October 29 starting at 5pm for a CovenTREAT (candy crawl) at participating merchants and free face painting. Hosted during the Final Fridays’ Art Walk+Market, it will be followed by a showing of “Hocus Pocus” at Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park at 7:30 pm.
 
Monster Trash Halloween Clean Up October 30
Join the Heights Corridor Clean Up Crew and the Cleveland Heights Green Team for a spookily fun clean-up of the Cedar Lee corridor on Saturday, October 30 at 4:30pm followed by a social hour with drinks at 6pm at Boss Dog Brewery. Wear your Halloween finery and bring your own gloves and used bags. Meeting location is the Cedar Lee Theatre at 4:30pm.
