As we near the end of this spring semester, I am grateful for the flexibility, patience, and confidence that our entire school community has exercised. The last 15 months have included elements of learning and loss and smiles and sorrow and optimism and speculation. Together we have navigated it and together we will return in August 2021.

Following the direction of the HISD, I want to take this opportunity to confirm that we are planning to have our students back on (our new) campus, ready to re-engage with each other and all of us. It is our hope that health and safety conditions will allow us to provide a more typical high school experience for our students, and a more fulfilling experience for our faculty and staff. Bellaire will be ready to welcome your children back to 5100 Maple, we will be eager to greet them with smiles, and we will be grateful to have them back, within our doors, bringing both the energy and the hope that fuel Bellaire HS.

It will be important to stay up to date as we physically move to our new building, and rapidly communicate any new procedures/ protocols, and plans. Our website, social media channels, and Friday eNews will always be reliable means for our Cardinals to remain connected.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us as we make our way through final exams and launch our Class of 2021 toward a Face-to-Face graduation. I’m #CardinalProud to share this community with each of you and I cannot wait to have you experience all that Bellaire has, does, and will offer our kids.

Enjoy the day,
Michael

Yearbook Distribution
Please use the entrance off South Rice closest to the auditorium (marked with a star) for yearbook pickup on May 28. We will also mark the doorway with balloons so it is easier to spot. Do not use the main office entrance off Maple Street. No one will be available after school hours to answer the door.

Distribution will be on a walk-up basis. Students with pre-orders should bring an ID. Online orders are still accepted through May 26. After that, any remaining books will be $100, cash only. Protective clear covers and autograph pages will also be on sale on May 28. Those are $3 each, cash only. Only the buyer or a family member may pick up the book.

Any unclaimed books may be picked up between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 1-4 and 9 a.m.-noon June 7-11. Any unsold books may also be purchased during those hours. Books not picked up by June 11 will be held until the new building opens. We will not have access to those books over the summer.

They will scan a new laptop out to the student, log in ahead of their arrival and install the App for them and test it out. This will help speed up the process.
