Living Word Voices
Begins September 7th
All adults and teens who love to sing are invited and encouraged to join the choir. We rehearse Wednesday’s from 6:50-7:50pm.  A fall retreat where we begin learning the music is on Saturday, September 10th, from 9am-noon at the church. For more info., contact Denise Eibel at [email protected].

 One Day LiFT Women’s Retreat

 Have you ever wondered why others boldly live the life Jesus taught? Have you ever wondered how they find the confidence? Join us on Saturday, August 27, to discuss the ways scripture shows us to find the confidence that is ours through Christ Jesus to approach God, witness God in our lives to others, serve others, and trust in God’s love for us. Doors will be open at 8 a.m., pastries and coffee will be available. We will start at 9 a.m. Lunch is provided and dinner is potluck. Sign up at mylwlc.com or via invite found on the table in the Narthex. For more information, please contact Maureen Garrison or Lori Kohler.

Men's Breakfast and Bible Study
Our first breakfast and study for the fall will be Saturday, September 10th, beginning at 7:30am. We meet the 2nd Saturday of every month for our monthly breakfast and study. Our study will be "The Spiritual Realms - The Study of Heaven and Hell and Places Beyond this World.” Click here to sign up.

LiFT Women's Bible Study
 LiFT Bible Study begins September 1 with the study “A New Song: Save Me, O God”. This study will encourage and uplift you as you reflect on God's promises to be your shield, to hear and answer your prayers, and to give you salvation, righteousness, and relief-in every circumstance. Everyone His Witness Workshop
Pastor Malinak will lead a witnessing workshop on Saturday, August 20th, from 9-4 PM at the church. You will learn how to naturally share the Good News of Jesus with the people in your everyday life. Learn how to listen, ask non-accusatory questions, and share the Gospel with honesty. Lunch & materials provided.

Upcoming Small Groups 
Iconology (4 weeks) Tuesday’s, September 6-27 at 6 pm. This study will examine the rich practice of writing icons and the common themes within the icon artform. Topics include: The backstory of the Icon; Christ Icons; Mary with Jesus Icons; The Church Icons.
Ephesians (13 weeks) Sunday’s, September 11-December 18 at 7 pm. This study will go through Paul’s beautiful letter to the Church at Ephesus.
Walking in Their Shoes: A Small Group for all ages - Thursday, September 1 at
6 pm. In life we share a common bond of humanity with all people; however, not all of humanity shares in the same life experiences. Once a month, this small group will gather to learn about how others in this world experience life and try “walking in their shoes” for 30 days by immersing themselves in similar experiences. Topics include: food options, technology, available entertainment, clothing and many more.

Presidents Cup Tournament
September 30th thru October 2nd
At Bear Creek Golf Course
Tournament Format is “Golf Cart Scramble” with participates having Golf Cart Handicap balance(Low/High). Friday Golf is optional with a 1:30 Tee Time.
Tournament starts Saturday at 7:30 AM. Tournament fee is $170 which includes course fees, carts and taxes. For more information contact Carl Young, Curtis

Summer Breakfast
Our Sunday summer breakfast will be served between services from 9:45-10:45 am through August 28th. Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer to help. The cost of the food is reimbursed.  Click here to sign up.

Wednesday Night Alive!
Ages 3-5th Grade
“Oh, the Places We Will Go!”
Beginning September 7, travel with us each week as we journey to destinations in the Bible and hear the stories that put them on the map! Enjoy music time, mission projects, crafts and games, all from 6-7:15 pm. Dinner is served from 5:30-6pm.

Young Adults Discipleship
The young adults (ages 16-22) meet Tuesdays at 6:45 AM at Starbucks in Westlake. 

Youth Events
Texas Rangers Baseball Game (grades 8-12) Saturday, August 27th. We will meet at the church at 4:30pm. No cost for the game, but bring money for food.

EVO Entertainment (Jr. & Sr. High) Friday, September 9th, from 5:45-8:30pm
No Cost. Includes dinner, bowling, bumper cars, video games and lots more.

EVO entertainment (Grades 1-5) Saturday, September 10th, from 5:45-8:30pm
No Cost. Includes dinner, bowling, bumper cars, video games and lots more.

Riverbend Retreat (Grades 1-5 ) September 23rd-25th

Union Gospel Mission Donations 
We will be collecting donated items through August 28 in the box in the
Family Life Center.
Ladies Items: new/gently used purses, lotions, shampoo, soap, feminine products, finger nail polish, costume jewelry, snacks, socks, and tissues, daily devotional books, Christian music, book markers, writing pads, pens. 
Men: Underwear, belts, shoes, deodorant, soap, shaving supplies, socks.
Children: backpacks, school supplies, pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks, crayons, coloring books. 

Mission Partner News
Union Gospel Mission: Remember UGM in your prayers as they share the gospel by ministering to the homeless and economically challenged. Consider joining our LWLC team on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 5-7pm to serve dinner to the homeless (1331 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth). We hope everyone will be able to get their photo taken for the LWLC directory. Photos will be taken for free in between services and after services this Sunday, August 21st in the choir wing.
