The Sept 2021 College of Science Undergraduate Student Newsletter
Jonathon Mousley the 2021-22 Science Senator
From the Science Senator
Hello College of Science Students!

I sincerely hope the first few weeks of the fall semester have treated you well. To new and returning students alike: The College of Science is thrilled to have you. It’s been enlightening to interact with many of you over these last few weeks. Since I first stepped foot on campus, I’ve known our college is home to exceptionally talented and hardworking students, but not until recently have I come to realize that our college is also home to well-rounded students. As we all know, balancing our academic and social lives is an ongoing struggle. Throughout my own education, I’ve severely struggled with finding this balance, often focusing too much on what’s going on in the classroom and not enough on the ample social opportunities that surround me. I hope each of you can take comfort in the fact that you are not alone in this struggle. It’s been nothing short of empowering to interact with so many who share in this struggle, yet have found a way to thrive – pursuing academics at a high rate of success, while still nurturing non-academic interests. I’ve been reminded yet again that we have so much to learn from each other.

As I serve as Senator this year, I hope to be a resource to you. Whether you are looking to get started in undergraduate research, seeking professional development opportunities within your field, hoping to become more involved on campus, or simply need a friend, please contact me at sciencesenator.ususa@usu.edu.

Best,
Jonathan
