We are presently engaged in several policy topics, so here is a brief overview of a few key items and their status:

At our Developing Delaware Conference a few years ago, the Ready in 6 concepts were born. Today, several bills are winding their way through the General Assembly, and we are optimistic that some will become law. This will expedite permitting practices in some cases. Regulators are working on policies to implement the Healthy Delaware Families Act. The State Chamber provided a 40-plus page document on the draft policies and will continue to work with policymakers as details emerge. The Department of Labor is accepting comments about the draft policies through May 30, 2023. You can submit your thoughts by emailing PFML@Delaware.gov.

The federal government is expected to invest approximately $115 million in Delaware to build out broadband infrastructure. Completion of this work will aid access and affordability for many people and businesses, workforce development, research and education, and close the digital skills gap, among other benefits. Have an opinion? Consider taking or both of these surveys:

We kick off the week this morning with wholesale inventories data from March, and a televised interview with Chicago Fed President Goolsbee. Two more speeches of note are scheduled for Tuesday with Fed Governor Phillip Jefferson speaking in the morning and New York Fed President Willams at noon. The April results for the Consumer Price Index are released on Wednesday, while April Producer Price Index numbers are out on Thursday. We wrap up the week on Friday with the Import Price Index numbers for April, as well as an evening panel discussion about the economy and monetary policy by St. Louis Fed President Bullard and Fed Governor Jefferson.

International Flavors & Fragrances and PayPal start the week of earnings calls today, and are joined by BioNTech, DaVita, Six Flags, and Tyson Foods. Air Products, Airbnb, Fisker, LegalZoom.com, Occidental Petroleum, RingCentral, Rivian Automotive, and Steve Madden are on the long list of Tuesday calls. Walt Disney is the Wednesday headliner and is joined by Crane, Reynolds Consumer Products, Traeger, and Wendy’s. Yeti Holdings, Dillard’s, Krispy Kreme, Utz Brands, and others round out a busy week.
