As we begin to wrap up February and enter our next season in PTA – programs, celebrations, nominations and elections - please take the time you need to relax, relate, release and remember your WHY PTA. Why did you participate in PTA? Why did you raise your hand to be a PTA leader? Why do you feel so passionate about serving your school community?
Reflect on all the good work your local unit has accomplished to this point in the school year. Or even the items you have not, and how you will adjust your course and continue to make an impact in your school community. You might be thinking, we do not feel like we have accomplished half of what we are used to. And to that I say: yes you have! We must take the time to recognize and celebrate everything we have been able to achieve, the good with the not-so-good. Taking time to celebrate the small wins and the big ones, will help lead us to a more positive reflection of our accomplishments. It is true that our meetings, events, programs, fundraisers, and membership, are still not what we are accustomed to, but that is OK. Every day we will continue to do the work and move forward. Give yourselves and your team credit for what you have been able to do and celebrate.
Our children are counting on us, and I am so proud of the wonderful volunteers like you working to make a difference for all children. Thank you for being you and giving your time, talents, and treasures to help make every child's potential a reality. We Are VAPTAProud and we will continue the work!
With appreciation and many thanks,
Pam Croom, VAPTA President
