Noteworthy News

  • REPORT CARDS: Friday, October 29th is the end of the first quarter. Report card grading has started in Infinite Campus. Students are encouraged to ensure they have all of their work turned in. Report cards will be available and finalized on Friday, November 5th.

  • NO SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY (10/22): There is NO School on Friday, October 22, 2021. All staff will be at a Professional Development Day of learning.

  • HALLOWEEN PARTIES: Halloween parties will be on Friday, October 29, at 2:30. If the party for your child's homeroom is inside, please wear a mask while inside the building. Students may wear a Halloween shirt and jeans on that Friday.

  • FUNDRAISER DINNER: The St. Anthony Community has missed gathering for auction! We will be having a fundraiser dinner on February 5, 2022, to celebrate and honor Catholic Schools Week! Stay tuned for more information.

  • AUCTION FOR EDUCATION RAFFLE: Who couldn't use some holiday cash? The annual Auction for Education Raffle is here and tickets are available now. If you did not grab your envelope from the church gathering space, the envelope with tickets was sent home with your youngest child on Monday. Sold tickets and money can be dropped off at church or in the parish or school office. Additional tickets can be purchased in the parish office for $10 each. Drawing is November 6!

  • 8TH GRADE SHADOW NIGHTS:
  • WEST CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL: On a West Catholic Shadow Day, 8th-grade students are paired with a West Catholic student to experience a day in their life. By sitting in on a few classes, eating in the lunchroom, and meeting WC students, your child will see what they will experience during their time at West.

  • CATHOLIC CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: The Shadow Day student agenda includes an introduction and welcome with CC student leaders, attending two CC classes, lunch in the Student Center with CC students, taking a student-led tour, and finishing the experience with an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about what Catholic Central has to offer. The daily Combo Lunch will be provided to the 8th grade students, free of charge. Students may opt to bring their own lunch if they wish or if they have special dietary needs. We will send you the Combo Lunch meal menu for your student’s Shadow Day in advance.

  • EXPERIENCE WEST NIGHT: If you were unable to join us in September, we welcome you to join us for a small follow-up gathering to give every family the opportunity to join us on campus!

Students and parents will have the opportunity to take a campus tour with a current student, hear from the experience of a current parent, see the wonderful things happening at West Catholic each day, and learn about next steps. Click HERE to sign up!

  • CATHOLIC CENTRAL EXPERIENCE NIGHTS: (6th-8th grade families) - Join us for a brief but intimate evening learning more about Catholic Central. Hear from a current student and then middle schoolers will go on a student-led tour and spend time getting to know our student leaders while parents will learn more from current parents and staff.October 14, 25 & Nov. 10.   • TRUNK OR TREAT: See the attached FLYER for details about TRUNK or TREAT happening on October 24, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Reserve your spot by calling the parish office at 616-453-8229 ext. 102, and be sure to wear your favorite costume.

  • ALTAR SERVER TRAINING: Altar Server Training will take place on Sunday, November 7th at 12:45 pm. Any student who has made 1st Communion may serve at mass. Please meet in church. A parent must be present for the first part of the meeting. Paperwork will be available to fill out.   • BOX TOP DEADLINE: Return your box tops now so we can get them submitted for our November 1 deadline!

  • CHIPOTLE RESTAURANT NIGHT: November 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mark your calendars and please watch for more details.

  • SAVE THE DATE: Family Art Night will be held on Wednesday, November 10. Look for more information coming soon!
  • COOKBOOKS AND SNOW BAGS are still for sale in the school office! If you are interested, please contact schooloffice@saparish.com. Cookbooks are $10 and snow bags are $5.
Athletic News:

  • SPORTS PHYSICALS: All students grades 3rd through 8th are required to have a physical dated after 4.15.2021 on file with the school office before the first day of scheduled practice. Forms can be found here and emailed to athletics@saparish.com or dropped off to the school office.
HOUSES ARE HERE!

Welcome to my House! St. Anthony Middle School students (6-8) are taking part in a House System. This is a dynamic and exciting way to foster a positive school environment and a culture of belonging. Students will form friendships, build character, experience mentorship, boost self-confidence, and experience much more as they create healthy competition among the houses. In a House, students are able to interact with other grade levels and empower one another to work together through service activities and mentorship. Houses will enjoy a series of friendly competitions and service activities to accumulate points for their house that leads to success throughout the year. Watch for more details to come!

FIRST HOUSE CHALLENGE WINNER:
The first challenge the Houses participated in was to see how many bags each House could decorate for the Kids Food Basket. We had a grand total of 516! Click the video to see which House was the winner!
