Volume 31 Issue 15 | December 3, 2021
Principal's Message

We took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather this week and enjoyed one more outdoor lunch for 2021 and lots of outdoor snack and recess time as well. As we finish our last couple of weeks before winter break, we have many exciting items coming up:

  • December 10th: 1st-4th Grades Winter Sharing (available on Greenbriar's YouTube channel--parents will receive an email when performances are live) & Cookie Kit pick-up from 3:00-3:45

  • December 13th: Cookie Kit Raffle winners announced!

  • December 14th: Board of Education meeting--planned announcement of new superintendent

  • December 17th: Whole school pajama day & classroom holiday parties

This afternoon parents/guardians will be emailed a link to access their child's trimester one progress report. Please take a moment to review your child's scores and teacher comments. As always, we hope parents/guardians feel like they have a clear understanding of their child's on-going progress through teacher updates and discussions but also recognize that progress reports are an important method of communication as well. I had a chance to review every student's report and I'm incredibly proud of the growth we're seeing across all grade levels. Give your kids a hug for all of their hard work!

Happy Hanukkah to all who are celebrating!

Children's Choir Sign Up
Winter/Spring Children’s Choir sign ups are happening now! Click through this SIGNUP LINK if your child is interested in joining the Northbrook 28 Children’s Choir. Contact Mr. Bartunek ([email protected]) with any questions. If you missed our fall concert, here’s a direct link to the music videos that we created.

Hot Chocolate Challenge
Mrs. Sanchez is excited to offer our annual Hot Chocolate Challenge again during winter break. Kids can read throughout the break and earn a cup of hot chocolate from Starbucks! Check out more information in this flier.

Vaccinations and SHIELD Testing
As a reminder, when your child is fully vaccinated, please submit his/her vaccine card to CrisisGo. Parents will receive a link on December 9th to submit their cards and can also request a link from Nurse Haley ([email protected]). When submitting your child's vaccine card, please indicate the fully vaccinated date as 15 days after the child's second shot (e.g., second shot was 12/2, fully vaccinated date would be 12/17). Once children are fully vaccinated (two weeks after their second shot), they are no longer eligible to participate in weekly SHIELD testing and they will automatically be removed from the SHIELD testing roster. Parents DO NOT need to opt out their child based on vaccination status.
