This Sunday's Sermon and Song List
This week we'll be diving into a larger portion of Genesis to see the big picture of God's dealings with Noah. In Genesis 6:9-8:22 we see our God of grace provide what he demands. God provided all the means by which Noah was saved. He “remembered” and “favored” Noah according to his own grace, preserving him through the flood waters, and bringing him into a “new creation”. All these acts prefigure Christ. All the language involved in the construction of the ark (e.g., “covering”) is used almost exclusively to refer to the covering of “atonement”, as if the ark was “covering” Noah in the way the blood of Christ covers sinners. We'll also be taking the Lord's Supper together this week.

To get yourself ready to sing on Sunday you can start listening to the songs we'll be singing together:
  • Awesome Is The Lord most High
  • The Heart of Worship
  • Good Good Father
  • Raise Up The Crown
We created a playlist on Youtube in case you want to start listening today. You can find that by clicking HERE.
Women's Prayer Meetings
Prayer, prayer and more prayer. All women are encouraged to participate in our prayer time Thursday, June 17, at 7:00 PM. We will meet in the Women's Ministry area and will dedicate our time to prayer for individuals, our church, our city and area, our state, and our nation. We plan to meet for prayer every first Thursday at 2:00 PM and third Thursdays at 7:00 PM throughout 2021. Please join us!
Gathering Grounds IS NOW OPEN! Gathering Grounds will be open Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:30pm. They are in need of volunteers Monday through Friday 8:30am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4:00pm. Substitutes welcome. Contact Cynthia Zimbleman 605-660-4738 or Robin Neth 605-660-8163.
A Testimony of Suffering with Faith
John Knight works with Desiring God, a ministry dedicated to seeing people find their satisfaction in God's glory. John has been a friend and encouraging brother in my life and I continue to draw encouragement and strength from remembering his testimony. John and his family have suffered profoundly AND have found deep wells of joy in God through that suffering. There's so much about this testimony that is helpful! It is brutally honest. It exemplifies how mature Christians can respond to those who are suffering. It shows how God often takes us through suffering to reveal our own sin and selfishness. And, of course, it exemplifies how Christ is faithful in our suffering. I'm not exaggerating: this could be the most important thing you will watch this year.

Pick Up Your Discovery Church Summer Calendar!
Church Calendars for June are available now! We thought it would be good to hand out a calendar because there are some new things we're trying and we're excited to have as many people as possible participate with us. If you want a DIGITAL COPY OF THE CALENDAR CLICK HERE.
SUMMER LIFE GROUPS
This Summer we want to use our break from traditional Wednesday night gatherings and turn that extra energy and freedom toward Life Groups. These will be Summer long small groups dedicated to fellowship, Bible-discussion, and outreach. These groups are for individuals, couples or whole families to enjoy together. If you are interested in hosting or leading (or both!) one of these groups just let us know. You can sign up for a group as soon as this Sunday or you can contact the office if you're interested in hosting, leading or attending. What I (Pastor Cory) am looking forward to most about these groups is that each group can have it's own personality and be tailored to the needs of the group. Our family's group will be meeting at our house for topical Bible discussions, spiritual accountability and feasting. Then, once a month we'll be making a point to invite my neighbors along so that we can be a blessing to them as well. Wouldn't it be great if all our households were known in our neighborhoods for our generosity and hospitality!

New Life Groups Can Start Anytime - Let us know if you want to host one!

Baptism Class for Young People
Class Continues Tuesday, June 8th, 12:00PM @ Discovery
We decided to host a brief baptism class for students because we had a few of our younger students begin asking questions about following the Lord in baptism. Up until this past Tuesday I had thought that 6-8 students would be attending. Imagine my delight when 18 Students Attended!

If you would like to download what we talked about in the first class CLICK HERE. Classes are on Tuesdays at Noon, June 8th and June 15th. Contact the church office with any questions or to sign up with your student. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Lunch is provided.
Revival Youth Event- June 9th
Revival students will meet for a time of fellowship on June 9th from 3:30-7:30. They will spend time playing games, eating pizza, and watching a movie. We hope to see you there!
