Advent Lessons and Music Tonight
Trinity Church will host our annual Advent Festival of Lesson and Music tonight at 5pm. This is a lovely service of scripture readings, prayers, and music and is a perfect way to begin our Advent journey. Please invite friends and neighbors to join you. All are welcome! Then join us afterward in the Parish Hall for a reception and the chance to visit with our church family and friends.
Advent Quiet Day
All women in the church are invited to an Advent Quiet Day this Saturday at Trinity Church sponsored by the Daughters of the King. tt will be held in the Parish Hall (and via zoom) on December 4th from 9am - 2pm. Rev. Nan will lead the quiet day entitled “Crossing Thresholds with Faith and Courage” which will draw upon the wisdom of St. Brigid to help us look at how our faith can guide us when we find ourselves at the crossroads of change, either personally or as a culture. How do we find the courage to open the door that will take us in a different direction such as moving from good health to a health challenge or from grief to joy? Whether it is beginning a new phase of our life or closing out one, how can our faith help us make a good transition? We will have muffins and coffee to begin our gathering and then lunch at noon. The quiet day will include prayer, meditations, time for quiet reflection, and time to walk a labyrinth. Please bring a notebook or journal. RSVP to Anne Stefan, the DOK President, dstefan@swbell.net or Nan@trinitymarblefalls.org., so we will know how many to prepare for. All women are welcome!
nannkennedy@gmail.com is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Young Lay Reader
Samuel Sugeno made his debut as lay reader last week as he planned and led the service of Morning Prayer in the courtyard. Thank you for your service, Samuel!

This is the collect that Samuel wrote for Morning Prayer:

Dear God,
Please help us to be holy and one. To live together in unity and peace and to show
compassion for one another. Help us to know that you are present with us now and always. To show that you are always available for us to talk to. To live in peace and tender harmonies. To show kindness and equity for one another. Help us to show equality for one another. Help us to
show courageousness and to stand up for what is right healthily and peacefully. To lift each other when he/she is down. Help us to connect and be in healthy relationships. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Please donate gift cards for the families served by the HIGHLAND LAKES FAMILY CRISIS CENTER

Giving Fair Sunday Dec. 5th

9:15-9:45am Presentations in the Sanctuary
9:45-10:15am Table visits in the Parish Hall

Trinity is sponsoring our 12th annual Giving Fair this Sunday. Representatives from twelve community non-profits will present their organization from 9:15 to 9:45am in our Church Sanctuary followed by a gathering in our Parish Hall from 9:45-10:15am (this timeslot replaces our Adult Christian Ed Class). Trinity’s Ministry & Outreach Commission invites you to our sanctuary (either in-person or live-streamed) to hear from each of these groups about the important work they are doing in our community. Click HERE for Summary of Participants. After their presentations, please join these groups in the Parish Hall for a short visit and refreshments before our 10:30am service. The purpose of the annual Giving Fair is to help connect these local non-profit organizations with our parishioners. These organizations are always in need but especially in the past two years as many of their fund-raising events were cancelled and/or limited and many of the people they serve have been impacted by the COVID19 conditions. What a wonderful way to observe Advent by honoring a loved one with a donation in their name to a worthy organization serving families and/or children in our community. Look for our summary on each group and how to contribute and/or connect with them in printed flyers in the Narthex! “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. As it is written, “He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:7-9
Order Poinsettias for Christmas
Donating a poinsettia for the 2021 Christmas altar décor is a wonderful way to honor loved ones. The red poinsettias will be in six-inch pots and cost $9.00 each. The sign-up sheet will be in the narthex. Be sure and write on the flower chart who your donation is in thanksgiving for or a memorial to, and the names will appear in the Christmas service bulletins.  You may make checks payable to Trinity Episcopal Church with “poinsettia” in the memo line.  Drop your check in the collection plate or turn it in at the office. We encourage donors to pick up the plants after the church services on Sunday, December 26th,  2021.
Total UTO Collected
Thank you for contributing to the Episcopal Church’s United Thank Offering fund by bringing in your blue boxes full coins representing your thanks to God for the many blessings you received. A check for $444.91 will be sent from Trinity Church to the national Episcopal Church, United Thank Offering. Trinity’s contribution will join monies collected all over the United States, and good work will be done for those in need out of our thanksgiving. Be sure to pick up your new blue box on Sunday as our next in-gathering will be in the spring.
Children’s Chapel
Parents or Grandparents, please plan to bring your children directly to the Children’s Chapel before the 10:30am service. They will be brought back to you at the Peace after getting to worship with age-appropriate prayers complete with hand motions and after hearing a Bible story. The Chapel leaders are looking forward to teaching your kids in person once again. Masks will be provided for any who are unvaccinated as we request that masks be worn to protect the children.
CASA
Every year, our parish generously offers support to the abused and neglected children in our community served by CASA of the Highland Lakes. CASA is currently active in over 125 cases involving roughly 300 children. You can support a child in foster care by placing cash, a check (payable to CASA of the Highland Lakes), or a $25 Walmart or Visa gift card in the box in the narthex on or before Dec 5. Thank you for your help and generosity; your support is deeply appreciated.

Volunteers Needed December 11th
Four or five volunteers are needed to help stuff small bags of food for 200 school children receiving St. Peter's Blessings.  Volunteers are meeting at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1803 Ranch Rd. 1431, Marble Falls at 9:00am. It's lots of fun and takes slightly over an hour.
The Hunger Alliance is donating $5 per child to provide an extra bag of food for the two-week Christmas break. Funds for the donation were given by Trinity Episcopal Church and Fellowship Baptist Church. Please let me know if you can help. Pam Rodgers
Communion in the Courtyard
For the past year, we have been worshiping in the courtyard on Tuesdays, using various forms of Morning Prayer. We are trying something new, and worshiping with Holy Communion on the first Tuesday of each month. This is a fairly short and informal service, and will use different kinds of worship and different Eucharistic Prayers. Our next Communion in the Courtyard will be on Tuesday, December 7th, at 9:00 am. We hope you will plan to join us!
On-line Worship
Each Sunday, we livestream the 10:30am service of Holy Eucharist.
It will be available on Trinity’s  Youtube  page beginning at 10:20. Anytime after 10:20am click on the above YouTube link to go to Trinity’s YouTube channel. There you will see “ Live” or “Live Now” and click on it to join the service. If it is not there, refresh the page after a couple of minutes.
