Covid-19 Diagnosis Announcement
December 23, 2020
December 23, 2020

Dear St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School Families,

Today we were informed that a member of the community tested positive for COVID-19.  Their last day on campus was Friday, December 18 and a report was made to the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) as required.  Contact tracing has been done both by myself and our Covid Coordinator Jennifer Nieto and may be followed up on by OCHCA.

If you or your child(ren) were in contact with this individual, you have already received notice of that fact.  If you have not received communication, that means you or your child(ren) have not been identified as a close contact. Again, we are able to follow the revised 10 day quarantine period, allowing those who are the asymptomatic close contacts to end their quarantine after Monday, December 28.   Individuals who test positive must remain isolated for 10 days from the onset of symptoms / positive test and meet criteria to discontinue isolation, which includes being fever-free for a minimum of 48 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, other symptoms have resolved.

St. Francis is committed to providing accurate and transparent information regarding COVID-19 cases on our campus, while also maintaining our legal responsibility to ensure privacy and confidentiality for affected individuals. Let's all commit to maintaining privacy for those involved.

If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Nieto at [email protected].  As a reminder, if your child or anyone in your family exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your family's pediatrician.

We pray for the health and healing of all who are affected by Covid this Christmas season.

Be safe and be hopeful,
