St. Charles couple sets out to visit every local park
Kathy and Bill Swedberg have lived in St. Charles for more than 45 years, but until a few months ago, they had never realized how many parks were located within the city.
The St. Charles Park District owns and manages 1,450 acres of open space within the community, and the Swedbergs are out to visit each park and natural area. To date they've been to 33 locations. While the snow and cold has slowed their progress, they plan to complete their tour this year.
Youth Pickleball Brings Generations of Players Together
Pickleball isn't just for adults. Afterall, why should they have all the fun?
Encouraging the younger generation to learn the game, the St. Charles Park District is now offering two different sessions for Youth Pickleball this winter: from 3-4 p.m. Feb. 23-March 23 and 3-4 p.m. Feb. 25-March 25. All sessions take place at Haines Middle School, 309 S. 9th St., St. Charles. The program is for ages 10-18, but players will be grouped by age and skill level.
The safety of residents and patrons is the St. Charles Park District's first priority.
