Colleagues, our office has been working on some restructuring over the last year to better align all of our programs and projects! We will have some further discussion of this during our roundtable at the January VACAP conference, but wanted to give you the highlights. Thank you for all you do, always, and we look forward to working with you in the new year!
Our office name is changing to the Office of Economic Opportunity(OEO). As all of you know from community action history, the name is an acknowledgement of the roots and origins of community action. The Office of Economic Opportunity will work to continue advancing the important work of Community Services Block Grant, Neighborhood Assistance Program, Earned Income Tax Credit/VITA, and Special Projects (Whole Family, etc.). We will also work to develop new partnerships and opportunities and resources that make our network and outcomes stronger. See the new infographic below with our logo and some of the goals we will work towards!
Staff changes:
Matt Fitzgerald, Director of OEO. Matt will remain committed and involved in community action fully, although we will now have a CSBG Program Manager.
Abby Hanks, CSBG Program Manager. Abby has been effectively serving in this role for a good portion of the pandemic, she is excited to work with the CSBG team on the development of this new office.
We (Angel Ampey, Violet Peyton, Jessie Martin, Abby Hanks, Erika Lorenz and Matt Fitzgerald) are looking forward to continuing supporting the CSBG Network and maintaining our level of service, commitment, and innovation!
