Pine Island Families,


Thank you for helping make the beginning of the year at Pine Island a great experience for our kiddos and each other. We couldn't have asked for a better first day of school which continued throughout the week!  


We have some fun opportunities on the horizon that will require the support of our volunteers and can't wait for you to feel the excitement within the school day. Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities.

SCHOOL WIDE NEWS

Headphones Request - 


  • Please send headphones with your student.
  • Student headphones will remain at school.  
  • The traditional over the ear headphones are best for our K - 5 students; however ear buds also work.
  • Headphones are needed for computer lab usage, state testing and in class computer use.
  • Wireless headphones are not permitted and cannot connect to computers.  
  • Thank you!

WAVE Tie Dye Days - 


  • We have big plans for our WA.V.E. groups this coming year and we are ready to kick off the year with some fun in our groups.
  • We will be doing a school wide, tie-dye event in the coming weeks!
  • To help us prepare, please send your child’s White Wave Dolphin shirt in a gallon sized Ziplock bag, including middle school.
  • If you did not order a white Wave shirt, please send in a blank white t-shirt your child can use to tie-dye for the event.
  • We are requesting this is brought in by Wednesday, August 17th. 
  • Be on the lookout from PTO about opportunities to volunteer for this multi-day event!

CLINIC UPDTAES -






Prescription medication/forms drop-off in the clinic:

  • Drop off anytime M-F 7:30AM - 2:30PM. (No appointment needed)
  • All prescription medications MUST be brought in the original, labeled pharmacy container and MUST BE brought in by an adult (not by the student).
  • Medication forms must be filled out and signed by prescribing PCP. Forms are available on the PIA website under "Departments" tab or click the link for direct access - https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/health/medication/.

Middle School Curriculum Chat Date Change


  • Our first PIA football game is Wednesday, August 31.  We have moved the Curriculum Chat Night to ensure we are supporting all students.

  • Contact Release Forms
  • Everyone - please complete the following contact release form. A new form has to be completed for each child, each year. Elementary and Middle School students.
  • Teacher are not able to share personal information with other families in the classroom. Completing the consent link gives PTO the information needed to share with room parents. Thank you

  • Let’s get our staffulty’s school year off to a great start by “Stocking the Staff Lounge” with a wonderful assortment of snacks and beverages they can enjoy throughout the day! The PTO will be collecting items from 8/8-8/21 and have three (3) locations for easy drop-off of purchased items.
