Dear Saint Mark Family,

I pray you have been well, and you are stiving daily to do good deeds that bear witness to your faith in Jesus Christ.

By now you most likely have seen the beautiful repairs that have been done to our Francis Winship Walters Chapel. The work started last year on the outside with replacing the roof and regrouting the walls. The last task was replacing the flooring, which was completed in March this year. During this time the 9am service of Word and Table has been held in the sanctuary. Now with the completion of all the major work, we can resume worship in our chapel, and will begin Sunday, July 9th. I look forward to us gathering again in the beautiful space and worshiping God together. There will be a rededication service in early fall.

Saint Mark, one of the ways we grow stronger in community and relationship with each other is through fellowshipping together. Throughout summer, and in the months to come there will be a number of opportunities for us to have meals togethers, play together, share together, and get to know each other better. On June 25th, immediately after the 11am service there will be social in Wade Hall, sponsored by our own Larry Lucas. There will also be outdoor picnic and barbeque in July and August, along with other social gatherings in the fall. Our regular Punch on Peachtree immediately after the 11am service resumes July. Come and let us worship together, and then join in the fun and fellowship at these gatherings. Let us celebrate together, get to know other members of our church, and grow stronger together.

Did you know if you are traveling you can still worship live with us and participate in the different ministries of Saint Mark? I know with summer beginning next week, many of you will be traveling near and far on much needed vacation. While you are away, I encourage you to join us live online for worship. A number of our Sunday School classes also have Zoom option, so if you are a part of any of these classes you do not have to miss out on being with them. You can also give from wherever you are, so the ministries of our church can continue to transform lives. You can give online, on the church’s website, on the app, or mail your checks in to the church office.

I want to remind you that the Pride Committee has launched its Online Auction, which will close next week Saturday night, June 24th. If you have not placed your bids as yet, I strongly advise you to do it now. The competition is heating up quickly. Saint Markers know how to bid, so you do not want to wait. All proceeds will go directly to the Pride events and programs.

Saint Mark, continue to live each day as people who show forth the praise of God by what you do. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday, and also worshiping with you online.

Goodness and mercy pursue you,

Pastor Carolyn.
