FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

James Brasher, Construction Craft Laborer
For the past five years, James Brasher has worked as a skilled laborer for our team. During that time he has worked on just about every type of work Hardman performs. The knowledge James has of both Hardman and our work is appreciated by the entire team. Additionally, the team can always count on James to tell a joke or a share story—he is one of those people who seems to have the ability to talk to anyone. Having James as a member of the Hardman Construction family and getting to know him over the past few years has been a pleasure!
Nate McClellan, Welding/Shop Fabricator
Nate McClellan came to work for Hardman from Bufka Construction, where he was also a fabricator. Nate started for Hardman in January of 2015 and he was able to step right in to help with our fabrication needs. He has become the master of reading “napkin blueprints”. Over the past few years he has really understood the scope of work and what to ask to make sure he builds a product fit for the need. Nate has also stepped up in helping to train our apprentices so they are ready for the field. He spends time with them on welding and torching in hopes to ease some of the burden training out in the field. This program has really helped acclimate new employees to our scope of work. Having Nate step into new roles has been great to see and we are happy to have him on the Hardman team!
Jake Monton, Shop Mechanic
Jake Monton came to work for Hardman part time in the summer of 2015. He started out as this shy little kid, but it was no secret that he was Tommy’s boy. Most were nervous around him at first, as not to upset his dad, but we all found out quickly that Tommy wanted nothing more than to have Jake be treated as any new guy. Jake spent summers welding endless amounts of auger that needed to be rebuilt from years of wear and tear. Something must have happened one of those summer because Jake decided to pursue an education at Michigan Tech to study civil engineering…and maybe become our boss someday. Fast forward a year later, and Jake found his real passion was in welding and wrenching on equipment. In fact, he even had to rebuild his truck at home after he did something he promised his dad he wouldn’t with it. It was earlier this year Jake found himself wanting to start as a mechanic for us and has really started to grow into the position. And let’s be honest, with all those years working on Fords he really knows how to turn a wrench! A huge thanks to Jake for being part of the Hardman family and growing with us!
Mike (Fred) Robbins, Shop Fabricator/Mechanic
Mike Robbins started working for Hardman Construction through Manpower as a mechanic from his previous employment at Vans Harvesting. Quickly, we found out he was a great fit to the team and got along with anyone he came across—and it is still that way after five years. He was officially hired in full time November of 2015. He immediately established his “area” in the shop and pushed to perfect equipment like welders, Olin pumps, and Chem grout pumps. His favorite part of the job is learning new things, and it is great to see him make sure our pumps are in great running order and ready to work. While there were many conversations (at times even difficult) between Mike and the superintendents about the various pieces of equipment, watching him want things to run the best they can has been a huge asset to the entire team. You also might see Mike in the 1 ton or shop truck first thing in the morning or late at night delivering hot items to jobsites. He never passes down the opportunity to hop in a vehicle and head out to help. We can’t thank Mike enough for his countless hours and dedication!
Joe Rogers, Project Manager
Joe Rogers started with Hardman Construction as our Equipment Manager. Even though Joe hadn’t worked in the construction industry in the past, it was clear his experience with logistics and ability to effectively manage processes would be a huge asset to our company. He was able to make running the shop look easy, even though it is anything but that. Recently, Joe transitioned into a Project Manager role and has been running work for our team, which has proven to be a natural fit. Joe is firm but thoughtful with his decisions and his passion for Hardman Construction and our industry are apparent to everyone. He has a great sense of humor and has brought many unforgettable memories to our team, including an afternoon snowmobile ride during the summer—but you’ll have to ask him for those details. Joe is an outstanding member of our team and we look forward to seeing what comes next in his career!
Nicolle Taylor-Sheafor, Controller
Nicolle Taylor-Sheafor came to Hardman Construction as an accountant primarily focusing on our payroll function. However, it wasn’t long after she started with us that her role grew and evolved. As the Controller, Nicolle not only keeps a pulse on our finances, but she leads our administrative team in the office. Seeing her develop into a leader for our team has been great to experience. Nicolle is kind, caring, and smart and always has the best interest of our team and our company at the forefront of any decision. One of Nicolle’s best qualities is her ability to be direct with others, while also taking in their thoughts, ideas, and perspective. This delicate balance helps us to all make decisions and collaborate well with one another. While she may not have the best balance or the fastest 40-yard dash in the office, having Nicolle as part of the Hardman Construction family has been an absolute pleasure and we look forward having her on our team for years to come!
Jason Yeager, Heavy Equipment Operator
Jason Yeager has been a heavy equipment operator for our team. He first came to Hardman after spending some time in the oil fields as a driller. He was able to take that drilling knowledge and transfer it to our drill rigs seamlessly. Jason is a great operator who can competently run just about anything on our jobsites. His attention to safety and detail helps put the team at ease. We are happy to have Jason as part of the Hardman Construction team!
TWENTY YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Brandi Behm, Superintendent
Brandi Behm started at Hardman Construction as a second-year carpenter apprentice. Even as a young carpenter, Brandi always carried herself in a way everyone respected and she never backed down from challenging work. Many times she was the only woman on the jobsite, but she never let that stop her from learning or doing as much as she could. She always seemed to take an approach that if something needed to be done she would do it and she still carries that same work ethic 20 years later. After a short break to earn a bachelor’s degree, Brandi came back to Hardman Construction as a superintendent. Having her is this role has been fantastic for our entire team. She is smart, thoughtful, and truly cares about the entire Hardman team. Her ability to patiently train and teach new employees is very much appreciated. We are thrilled to have Brandi leading a crew and look forward to many more years working with her!
TWENTY-FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Keith Keigley, Crane Operator
Keith Keigley is currently a CCO for Hardman Construction, although that title doesn’t nearly encompass everything Keith brings to our team. Keith is very intelligent and knows our work inside and out. In fact, at one point Keith was running work for Hardman while also running a crane, and while we would have selfishly loved having him as a superintendent, running work when you are also in a cab is too much even for the best CCO’s. Keith has the ability to see the completed work in his mind before it happens and helps to make sure everything runs safely and smoothly. Additionally, Keith jumps in to help the team wherever he can, which sometimes includes taking calls to help other team members work through issues on different jobsites. Having Keith as part of the Hardman Construction family has been an honor over the years and we are thankful he has chosen to work with us!
Hershel Smith, Field Mechanic
Hershel Smith has worked as a mechanic with Hardman for 25 years, but as referenced on his voicemail, his unofficial title is the old G.O.A.T., Hardman Construction field mechanic. In all honesty, when it comes to wrenching, fabricating, or fixing, Hershel is one of the best. After all of these years, Hershel has seen a lot, which has helped with his ability to problem solve. More than anything, it’s Hershel’s ability to visualize and “build” in his mind that really makes his skill set so valuable to our team. While Hershel can sometimes appear to have a hard exterior, anyone on our team will tell you it isn’t too hard to break through. Hershel is willing to lend a hand and frequently offers ideas on how to accomplish a task. He also volunteers many hours on community projects that Hardman is a part of, along with projects with his local church community. We are fortunate to have Hershel as part of our team and will continue to pull every ounce of knowledge from him!
Warm wishes to you and yours for a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season!
