Help us, help you- WMS Early Dismissal Procedure:

  • Please send a written dismissal note to school with your child that day with the time you’d like to pick up.
  • Instruct your child to bring the note to the Front Office upon arriving to school.
  • Your child will be given a Dismissal Pass to give to the teacher at the beginning of the class they’ll need to leave.
  • At the indicated time, your child will come to the office to check out and wait for you at the entrance.
  • If all steps are followed, there is no need for you to call or get out of your vehicle.

This process allows us to avoid calling classrooms and interrupting teaching. It also helps to foster independence in students by asking them to be responsible for their part in the dismissal routine.
We prefer not to receive early dismissal messages on our attendance phone line or email because this requires the additional step of having to locate your child in advance to give them a dismissal pass.

Thank you very much!

WMS PTO Gift Your Child Donations in Action: Profile of the Week - Fostering Inclusive Classrooms
The PTO supports WMS in meeting the demands of our inclusive classrooms, creatively supporting all of our learners. We have funded Kindle Whispercasts, and accompanying audiobooks, which a teacher said, “challenged [students] to read books that they may not have tried earlier in the year.” We also granted money for alternative furniture such as Zuma Rocking Chairs, foot fidgets and swings.

Your donations to Gift Your Child help to ensure that our classrooms are effective learning environments for all!

Middle and More Virtual Coffees (Parent Enrichment)

Parent Enrichment meetings, hosted by the WMS PTO, provide monthly opportunities for parents to learn together on current, discussion-worthy topics related to parenting middle-school youth and time to meet with WMS Staff regarding curriculum. We hope you will join us!
