Council Votes to Overhaul Construction Safety

City Hall, NY: After a particularly devastating year for construction worker deaths in New York City, on Wednesday, November 10, the Council voted on a package of bills building on efforts to reduce construction-related injuries and fatalities. The first bill would require additional site safety supervision at major building construction sites, requiring a designated full-time construction superintendent who would be responsible for safety and code compliance, along with overall management of the construction project. The superintendent would be in addition to a site safety coordinator or site safety manager.

The mentorship program is designed to support entrepreneurs behind emerging beauty and wellness brands by leveraging the knowledge of the venture capital firm and the indie beauty business publication. To be eligible, applicants must have brands based in the United States, on the market for at least six months, and generating annual sales of $250,000 or above.
Restaurant Resiliency Program is Being Finalized for NYC Restaurants!

This $25 million grant program provides funding to restaurants that choose to provide meals and food to people within distressed or under-represented communities.
The NYS Pandemic Small Business Recovery Program

New York State launched the $800 million COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant Program, which will provide grants of up to $50,000 to COVID-19 impacted small and micro businesses and for-profit independent arts and cultural organizations.
