ASAA Dashain Festival - Nov. 19

Asian Students and Allies Association invites all to celebrate Dashain Festival! This is the first time ASAA is bringing a traditional Nepali festival to the Luther College community. Join us this Friday, November 19th from 6-8pm in the Union Lounge for a traditional Tika ceremony, Nepali dance performance, karaoke, with bubble tea for purchase. Sign up for singing karaoke through this link. (To promote the safety of our community, masks are required for festival participants.)


5K Turkey Trot - Nov 20

Come walk, trot, or run your way through Luther College Dance Marathon's Turkey Trot 5K on Saturday, November 20! Check-in begins at 9:00AM at Baker Commons and is $10 per person. All proceeds go directly to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital to support the kiddos. Coffee, donuts, and bananas will be provided! Click to register. Heathers the Musical

Based on the ‘80’s cult classic movie "Heathers," the musical follows the story of Veronica Sawyer, who is trying to navigate Westerburg High in the face of a ruthless group of girls all named Heather. Veronica wants her school to be more kind but is she willing to kill for it? Contains themes of violence, suicide, eating disorders, and other material some may find difficult. Masks required. Tickets available at tickets.luther.edu, x1357, or by stopping by the Ticket Office in the CFL. Remaining performances are Nov. 17th - 20th at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts.


Winter Bike Storage

Luther offers free winter storage for bicycles. Bike drop off is on two designated dates only. If you can't be there, you will need to find a friend to take your bike. Your bike must be registered to be accepted - stop at the Welcome Desk at the Union to complete your registration.
Sunday, Nov 21 or Monday Nov 22 from 1:30-4:30pm at Ashmore-Jewell Barn (the red barn next to Baker Village).


Luther College SafeRide

Luther College SafeRide would transport students back to campus from downtown Decorah on Friday and Saturday nights between 10pm and 2am. Students would be able to call and/or text Luther SafeRide and a pair of student workers in Luther College Fleet Vehicles would pick up the students. The program would be led by students under the direction of Campus Safety and Security and/or Facility Services. We want to know what you think! Please fill out this SafeRide Interest Form.


Interested in supporting your peers?

NAMI Iowa is looking for peer group leaders for their Peer Connections group. Individuals need to be on their path of recovery and be an active member of NAMI. Virtual training will be held in January and February. If interested contact counseling@luther.edu or cindy@namiiowa.org 


Pass Down the Gown X USA National Miss Wisconsin 

Senior, USA National Miss Wisconsin, Hannah Slater is partnering with Pass Down the Gown to collect long formal gowns. Pass Down the Gown, is committed to making formal events affordable for people across the United States! Drop off a dress (or dresses) on the second floor of the CFA, by the costume shop, and be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift card to Modish and free coffee! Drop off before November 29th. Looking for Basketball Officials

Recreational Services is looking for BASKETBALL officials for the month of January. You must have a working knowledge of the game and be willing to work two to three evenings a week. Please fill out the application and drop it by the Rec Services offices in the Union (104 Dahl).

Asymptomatic COVID Testing for All Students, Faculty, and Staff

Luther’s EAST (Expanded Asymptomatic Surveillance Testing) is open to all students, faculty, and staff on Tuesdays from 1-4:30 p.m. Appointments are required and can be booked online, up to 12 hours in advance. On the appointment website, look for “Asymptomatic COVID Testing for Luther Community Members.” Anyone being tested must have no COVID symptoms and should be feeling healthy at the time of their appointment. This testing service is free of charge. Masks are required at the testing site, located at 404 High St.
