Dear Prayer Partners,
A view from a viewfinder: Portrait of a Photographer and Videographer.
What a great view from this perspective! The drone is moving around camp to watch the buses drive in and drop off the precious campers. The videographer captures the camper running to her counselor for a warm hello hug. The photographer snaps a picture of the counselor/camper group after they have gathered. At the end of week, tender moments like this get captured on the camp video for campers and counselors to see.
Thursday is another big day for the camp. The kids and campers get to make final decisions on their activities in the morning. Do I want to go to Imagination Station, go fishing at the lake, make a birdhouse in woodworking, or decorate flip flops? When it's lunchtime, the activity centers are closing up for the week.
It was also a BIG afternoon. It was Royal Tea Party day. The girls got to dress up in their "Say Yes To The Dress" dress picked from the day before, wearing tiaras and bows. After such a special tea party, the girls got to top it off with swimming. The boys got to swim first and then they got to participate in "Dude Royal". The boys got to participate in axe throwing (don't worry - they were plastic!!) and a mobile ninja warrior obstacle course. It was an adventure that personifies strength and endurance. A great experience for each royal dude.
The mandate of Titus 2: 2-5 is for the men to teach self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely and for older women to disciple younger women, teaching them how to grow in godliness in their distinct relationships and calling."
Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.'
Be praying for the kids as they start to think about going back home on Friday. Some of the kids have already started to act out and we just need to pray for them. Ask the Lord for a good night's rest and for a good return to their homes.
Pray also for the counselors and staff as tomorrow can be a very emotional day. We will covet your prayers.
Thankful for a great week of offering hope to these kids. They have found their way to our hearts!
Blessings,
Darren
p.s. The buses will arrive at camp Friday around lunch. Pray for their safe arrival at camp as well as the return back to DFW once the kids are on board.
