What a Ball!
IRCC Army Ball - June 14, 2023

IRCC members celebrated the 248th birthday of the United States Army at Colony Hall, IRCC's banquet hall and event venue. The event featured a cake cutting, the Viera High JROTC Color Guard, the IRCC Chorus, and live music by Steve Kirsner and Friends. The uniformed services birthday balls are wonderful events that our members always look forward to!

The Colony Hall Banquet Facilities are also available to book for meetings, weddings, and private parties, with seating for up to 220 guests! RAC "Kocktails & Karaoke" Night

The Residents Activity Council (RAC) recently sponsored a "Kocktails & Karaoke" night. The bar was open (of course) and snacks were shared. Over 80 people participated in the event! There were a lot of great singers and some awe-inspiring noise makers --all having a terrific time.

Memorial Day at IRCC

IRCC held a moving Memorial Day ceremony. The chimes tolled, as the names of resident's fallen military family members were read. Afterwards, the Memorial Day golf scramble began. Over 100 golfers did their darndest. A "cookout" buffet, which included burgers, brats, chicken, and many other picnic foods and goodies --was served and enjoyed by all.

Florida's Space Coast - Great American Defense Communities

Did you know that the Space Coast is one of just five recently named Great American Defense Communities for 2022? According to the April 6 press release from Washington, D.C. –

Florida’s Space Coast, home to Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, is one of five communities across the country named to the 2022 Class of Great American Defense Communities.

The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced the five selected communities in conjunction with USAA, the program’s official sponsor at the Defense Communities National Summit earlier this month. The 2022 class also includes West Valley Partners, Ariz., Tullahoma, Tenn., Antelope Valley, Calif., and Northern Virginia.

“Our military needs America’s defense communities to support them,” ADC President Bob Ross said. “We selected Florida’s Space Coast because they are a region that consistently goes above and beyond to support service members, veterans, and military families living in their community.”

U.S. News & World Report Ranks Melbourne #4 in The 10 Best Places to Retire in the U.S. in 2021-2022:

Melbourne, Florida is once again a winner on the 2021-2022 U.S. News & World Report list of Best Places to Retire -- coming in at #4. They analyzed 150 metro areas in the United States to find the best places to live based on quality of life, the value of living there and people's desire to live there. Nice!
