ADVENT BEGINS THIS SUNDAY! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR DEVOTIONALS READY!
Our theme for Advent season is "The Weary World Rejoices". The link to all the resources is HERE. Don't feel the need to print out everything as we have done that here at the church. The daily devotional booklets will are available at the church out in the hallway. You can use this as a personal study or as a small group. I would encourage you to have a small group to process the weekly devotions but it is still a great resource if you want to use it as a family or individually. Be sure to read the introductory pages that help to explain the rhythms of the devotions that take us through Advent to Christmas to Epiphany Sunday. Also, we have the Christmas catalog for the Children of Zion Village, If you as a small group or a family would like to buy a gift for our African children pick up one of those booklets too! All are currently available for you to pick up at the church right now.

We have a NEW small group starting soon with the esteemed retired pastor Lisa! The book is "What if Jesus was Serious?" by Skye Jethani. We are all guilty of picking and choosing our favorite Bible passages and ignoring others that seem difficult to us. In this study you will tackle the teachings of Jesus and confront some of the difficult things he said while asking if he was being serious and how we should respond! Not exactly an Advent Study....but as we look forward to the greatest miracle in history, the event of God coming to be one of us and one with us, this study of Jesus' teachings challenges us to take Jesus seriously... it speaks to us as God's People living in uncertain times. The class will meet on Wednesday evenings on ZOOM, 7 p.m., beginning Wednesday, November 25th, and ending December 16th. Contact Pastor Lisa if you are interested in joining at [email protected].
SMALL GROUPS WINTER SESSION
ONE WEEK FROM TODAY I NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOUR SMALL GROUP IS DOING AFTER THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!!!
As we look beyond the Advent season, there are approximately 6-7 weeks until we begin the LENT season. So please be thinking ahead about what you would like to do with your small group after Christmas, and if there are any out there that would like to start a new small group. Please let me know by December 1st so we have plenty of time to advertise our slate of opportunities for our Winter session of small groups.
