Message from Hazel Bowman, RScP
CSLP Practitioner Core Chair

November is a wonderful month, reminding us we have so much to be grateful for! This month is filled with gratitude as we delight in the season and the abundance that is all around us.

With the Board and Practitioner Core working seamlessly together, our Center is thriving with all the good that surrounds us!

We’re joy-filled when people join our Center. Our New Member class will be on Saturday November 13 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM in Sibley Hall. If you’re interested in becoming a member, contact Sandy Kimmerle, RScP at [email protected] or call her at 928.925.3102.

With much gratitude to Grace McManus, RSCP in coordinating, on Sunday November 14 we have a wonderful Sound Meditation starting at 1:30 PM that restores your vibrations to a state of harmony and increase your spiritual well-being. If you wish to quiet your mind and benefit your physical health, please see Grace for more information.

The Heart Connection, headed by Sharon Tice and Grace McManus (RScP’s), is in full swing reaching out to our members and checking-in to see how you’re doing. Read Sharon’s article in this newsletter!

Thursday November 25 at 1:00 PM is Thanksgiving at the Center! Sign-up sheet is outside Sibley Hall so write down your name and come join the feasting and fun. May you gobble ‘til you wobble!

We are blessed with our guest speakers. This month we have Mel Hirsch, RScP Emeritus (Nov 7), then on the following Sunday (Nov 14) we have the awesome Rev. Tom Catlin (former minister at Unity Church of Prescott) joining us. And don’t miss attending our Sunday Nov 21 service to hear David Ault who for over 30 years has been a prophetic voice in bridging our collective forgetfulness into our great collective reawakening.

One of my favorite services is our Taizé Service which will be on Sunday the 28th. A Taizé
worship service involves song and chanted prayers, meditation, and periods of silence. Imagine the scene. Silence. Church lights dim. Worshippers holding their own candles, long and slim, then lighting each other’s one by one until the church is alive with even more candlelight. It is a time to rest in God, to let the words listened to and sung penetrate one’s being.

Immediately follow the Taizé service is our Annual Board Meeting that includes the election of our new Board. Best yet, I hear we have more candidates wanting to serve than ever before!

As Ernest Holmes reminds us, “God is all there is - God includes everything, all possibility and all action, for Spirit is the invisible essence and substance of all form.”

Love and more love,
Hazel

CSLP ANNUAL MEETING

Mark your calendars for our CSL Prescott Annual Meeting! We'll come together to discuss all that has happened in our Center over the last year; including finances, election of new Board members and hear all the good news unfolding in our community. Stay tuned for more information as the date approaches.
Greetings to all-
As we move into the holiday season, this is a time of joy and thankfulness for all of life’s goodness. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, and hope you and your loved ones have a great time together.
This will be my last report as your Board President; my term in office is up, and after much thought and prayer I have decided not to stand for re-election. We have strong nominees and I know the Board will continue to provide good stewardship, and will be a powerful force for good. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve, and I will continue to support the Center and its congregants.
 Thank You!
Blessings,  Kyra Molitor (Board President)
New Committee Being Formed!

The Board of Trustees is looking ahead in creating a committee to engage both the Quad Cities and online communities in open dialogue, by moving forward in sharing our Centers mission and vision as a path to increase membership and awareness to a broader audience. By expanding the Centers Love and Joy outside of our walls we are including others as we grow. Anyone interested in this exciting endeavor please reach out to a Board Member.
Thanksgiving at the Center!
Come join the feasting
and fun.
May you gobble ‘til
you wobble!

Dave Sharer Memorial
David transitioned from this life peacefully on October 3, 2021. He was surrounded by me (Sue) and his 4 sons; Robert, Andrew, Donald, and Michael.
I am assured he was met by loving souls to help him in his passing.
David and I and Robert were all blessed with a gathering of the family last July in Spicewood, Texas. Many photos were taken and shared by the family which are treasured by us all.
The Celebration of Life for David, led by Dr. Betty Campbell Henderson was attended by his sons & I. We are very grateful for the wonderful presentation of his life given then.
We have gratefully received many cards and phone calls since then; Thank you all!
His ashes were interned at the Veteran's Administration Cemetery on October 21st at 1:00 pm.
SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT
 An Attitude of Gratitude

Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer,
and let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.
- Maya Angelou

November marks a time of year, for me, to begin bundling up in the morning as I enjoy my morning coffee. The morning light comes late as I consider the many year end activities on my 2021 list! It is also a time to again take stock of all my gratitude’s for the blessings and good in my life. This seasonal thanks with friends, family and feasts is in addition to an almost daily gratitude that I recount usually in the evening. I can forget, if not careful, all of the little and seemingly mundane good in my life. For instance, I took out the trash and remembered that someone comes and takes this “no longer of service to me” stuff, some to be recycled and other to be buried. When I readied for work, I enjoyed hot and cold running water in my shower. This a luxury still to a huge number on this planet nearly 75% covered by water. “Oh what a luck man he was”, from the 1970 lyric by Emerson Lake and Palmer reminds that these sometimes seemingly small things are so valuable. The smile you give and received in return to someone you don’t even know, can be the “pick me up” needed in that moment.
This month consider making a shift in your thinking in one area that you have been saying you want change. For me, I have been putting off tackling some boxes of papers – some to the trash, perhaps some transcribed to the computer and others filed for accessible use. Rather than considering the chore, I am choosing to know how good it will feel to release the old and treasure that which I keep. This truly feels like gratitude in action. “Treat, treat and move your feet” – Thanks Dave Sharer for that wise reminder. What are you grateful for today? What action step will you take? Stuck? Reach out for assistance in seeing the divine in you. Namaste’

Lots of love,

Erin & Diane
Love and Light is a group of people who enjoy celebrating the goodness that exists in and around us. We have used two books for our discussions over the last two years. One is FROM AGING TO SAGEING by Miller and Schachter-Shalomi and the other is COMFORTABLE WITH UNCERTAINTY by Pema Chodron. Our small group has been together for about two years finding inspiration and support for what is going on in our lives.

WHEN: First Monday of the Month
TIME: 1:30 pm
WHERE: CSLP in Sibley Hall
Originally, we were a Circle formed to bring together those individuals who were volunteering for candle lighting and greeting. However, you don't have to be a volunteer in those areas to join our group. Contact Kay Krizek at (818)486-1888 or just show up! You will be heartily welcomed!

We ALWAYS need volunteers to greet people at the door and to light candles during the service. Feel free to sign up on the table near the front door!

Kay Krizek
Please reach out for prayer, conversation and emotional support during this challenging time. We can only be there for you if you reach out and let us know what you need. Remember, we love you so much, and it's our pleasure to be there for you.

VISITATION MINISTRY
Dave Sharer made his transition to his highest expression on October 3; we miss his loving presence

In the month of September, the Practitioners made 7 in-person visits, 38 phone calls and participated in 2 virtual prayer circles for those having medical treatments.

Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact our Visitation Leaders Karen Rader at 928.710.1908 or Richard Rader at 928.710.6079. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you
