Sequoia PTSA's weekly eNewsletter in partnership with the Sequoia High School Education Foundation
Time flies when you are having fun! I feel like just a few days ago I was blindsided by October and now November is here. I love November, it's my favorite time of year, fall is in full swing, we get a designated day to reflect and spend time with our friends and family, and the end of the year is right around the corner, with all the new beginnings it brings.
But before I get too far ahead, please join us for our next PTSA Board Meeting on November 2 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Per our typical format, Mr. Priest will lead off our meeting with school happenings and then we will have some time for your pressing questions. Have a specific question about Sequoia? Have a comment? Come to our meeting and share. It can't be said enough that one of the things that makes Sequoia work is the community and its resources. We are so lucky to have FREE after school tutoring in the Media Center, and at our meeting we will learn about another great FREE program, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula will share information about their robust daily after school program at the Redwood City Clubhouse.
The PTSA will be drafting a letter to the City of Redwood City regarding traffic safety on the roads surrounding the campus and also to SamTrans advocating to reinstate a popular bus line. If you would like to get involved, contact SequoiaPTSA@gmail.com. As always, please contact us with your comments, questions, concerns. On behalf of the PTSA, we look forward to seeing you at our meeting on Tuesday.

A big congrats to our varsity girls tennis team, who closed out their season as League champions! Led by 12 seniors, the Ravens were undefeated this year and featured in the San Mateo Daily Journal. The boys varsity water polo team ended their 6-6 season on a high, beating San Mateo in a nail-biter on Senior Night followed by a win over Half Moon Bay. The boys made big strides this year under coaches Mark Ledbetter and Eric Bittner and are only losing one senior player. Congrats to senior Vinnie F. and the whole team! Congrats to the team! COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND EVENTS

Take the RWC ARTS CENTER SUREY TODAY!
ARTS RWC, an arts roundtable of artists, arts advocates, arts organizations and civic leaders from Redwood City is working on a powerful vision for a new arts center: the Center for Creativity. The hope is to provide access to the arts to our city and the Peninsula at large.
Your entire family can help to move it closer to reality in two easy ways:
1. Take our survey! Everyone in the family can give input about community needs and desires. There are even specific surveys for kids and teens to make sure their voices are heard!
2. Share! Reach out to your friends, family, and colleagues who live, work, learn, and play on the Peninsula and ask them to take this survey also.
Survey results will be used to create a formal feasibility study that will go deeper evaluating possible locations, as well as enlisting the support of City and County government for the vision. Survey collection ends November 12.
