City facilities expand openings as the State's Open Texas plan moves to Phase 3
The City of Cleburne has several expanded openings planned as the State has reached a new phase of the Open Texas plan.

Gov. Greg Abbott recently announced the latest round of openings as Texas works through the COVID-19 pandemic. With restrictions lessening, several City facilities are expanding their capacity and operations.

City staff continues to monitor regulations and plan potential opportunities to expand operations and capacity in the future with community health and safety in mind. We encourage community members to continue practicing proper hand hygiene, social distancing, and staying home if you or a family member feels sick.

Carver Park Spray Pad
June 5 – Spray Pad opens

Cleburne Golf Links
June 5 – Flag sticks, bunker rakes, ball wash system reinstalled
June 8 – Grille will open for dine-in guests at 50% occupancy
June 15 – Grille will expand occupancy to 75% capacity

Lake Pat Cleburne
June 5 – Swimming area opens
June 12 – Volleyball courts open

Booker T. Washington Recreation Center
June 5 – Gym/Courts reopen with 20 people occupancy rate
June 8 – Occupancy increased to 50%
 
Cleburne Sports Complex
June 15 – Games, camps, and tournaments may take place

Adult Softball
June 15 – Games may take place
 
Public Library
June 8 – Expands occupancy from 25% to 50%

Layland and Railroad museums
June 8 – Occupancy expands to 50%

Cleburne Conference Center
June 8 – Occupancy expands to 50%
Streets Program 2020 makes progress on Nolan River Road
Crews have spent the past week laying new asphalt on Nolan River Road as part of the 2020 Streets Program. The $2.5-million project aims to repair and improve 9-miles of city roadways. The work on Nolan River should continue into next week. Once Nolan River is complete, crews will move to Harlin Drive for construction.

A message from the Police Chief
Cleburne, Texas Police Chief Rob Severance shares a special message regarding the death of George Floyd and what the Cleburne Police Department does and is doing to ensure the highest level of police services for the community.

So far 63% of Cleburne households have completed the 2020 Census
Cleburne had a 68.6% self-response rate for the 2010 Census. So far for 2020, Cleburne has a 63% response rate.

If the Census doesn't hear from a household a Census taker will visit them in person.

Meet Pet of the Week Iris! This pretty girl is super well behaved and ready for a new home. Iris is a 1-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is very friendly, house-trained, and loves attention ​. Iris seems friendly with other dogs and likes to go for walks!
